Maryland 404 East

Maryland 404 bypasses the county seat on a four-mile long expressway north and east of town. Maryland 16-404 East
Maryland 16 joins Maryland 404 between Harmony Road and Greenwood Highway in eastern Caroline County. The 3.2-mile overlap passes through the community of Andersontown through open farm fields ahead of the departure of Maryland 313 south via Federalsburg Highway. Maryland 16 continues east along Greenwood Road to Adamstown and Greenwood, Delaware as Delaware 16. Maryland 16 departs the 3.2-mile overlap with Maryland 404 (Shore Highway) for Greenwood Road east of Andersontown in Caroline County. The state highway travels 2.5 miles from there to the Delaware state line near Hickman, Delaware. Maryland 404 meanwhile continues 3.1 miles southeast alogn Denton Bridgeville Road to the transition into Delaware 404 as the Seashore Highway.
