Maryland 545 spurs northwest from Elkton and Maryland 213 (Bridge Street) to Cedar Hill along Blue Ball Road. Blue Ball Road itself continues to Maryland 273 (Telegraph Road) at Blue Ball. However state maintenance of the road ends at the intersection with Union Church and Hill Top Roads 2.7 miles southeast of Blue Ball.

Bridge Street departs downtown Elkton and crosses above the AMTRAK Northeast Corridor. North of the railroad under crossing is the southern terminus of Maryland 545 (Elkton Boulevard).
