U.S. Highway 1

U.S. 1 provides the original route between Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The federal highway was superceded in importance with the completion of Interstate 95 and the Northeastern Expressway. However outside of the urban areas, the federal highway still plays a vital role in movements throughout Cecil and Harford Counties.

Four guides cover U.S. Highway 1 within the state of Maryland:

U.S. 1 Cecil County Average Annual Traffic (AADT)

  • 4,125 - Between Maryland 273 (Rising Sun Road) and Maryland 276
  • 7,625 - Between Maryland 276 and the Pennsylvania state line
