Business Loop Interstate 229 and South Dakota 42 split at the 10th Street intersection with Minnesota Avenue. Minnesota Avenue north carries Business Spur Interstate 90 & Minnesota 115 north toward Sioux Falls Regional Airport and Interstate 90. 10th Street continues South Dakota 42 west to 12th Street, gaining Business Spur Interstate 29 in the process.
The shield assembly for South Dakota 115 and Business Spur Interstate 29 is posted beyond the Minnesota Avenue intersection, making it hard to figure out the numbered alignments. South Dakota 42 replaces Business Loop Interstate 229 with Business Spur Interstate 29 west of South Dakota 115 (Minnesota Avenue) in downtown Sioux Falls.
