What was previously a half-diamond interchange was redesigned into a convention "T" intersection in 2001. The half-diamond interchange was built in anticipation of extending Airport Expressway east to Interstate 490. That unconstructed freeway portion was cancelled due to community opposition.1 Photo taken 05/10/05.
