Looking southward at the end of the Pennsylvania 43 Turnpike from the Gans Road overpass in southern Fayette County. The turnpike ends prematurely due to the lack of a connection to Interstate 68 via the West Virginia portion of the turnpike. At present to make the connection from Interstate 68 and the state of West Virginia to Pennsylvania Turnpike 43, traffic must utilize State Secondary 857 northward from Exit 10 to Pennsylvania 857 (Morgantown Road).
