Interstate 27 North - Swisher County

Interstate 27 & U.S. 87 North
US 87 splits off at Kress. Kress is famous for having, at one time, the largest cow-killing capacity in the world under one roof. Photo taken 05/26/08.
IH 27 northbound at the US 87 split. Because IH 27 was constructed during the 1980s, the adjacent US highway was upgraded earlier. Today, US 87 as it parallels IH 27 is divided and two lanes, with grade separations at major crossroads. Photo taken 05/26/08.
IH 27 northbound at FM 145, which runs east into Kress. Kress was named for an early settler. Photo taken 05/26/08.
An IH 27 northbound reassurance marker, now US 87 free. Photo taken 05/26/08.
