| Loop 13 North |
 |
Texas Loop 13 originally began at Interstate 35 to the northwest of Kirby. With the construction of Interstate 410, the northernmost two miles were overridden, truncating Loop 13 to an interchange with an access ramp between Interstate 35 and 410 at Farm to Market Road 78. The guide sign refers to this ramp to Farm to Market Road 78 eastbound and associated ramps to Interstate 35/410 north and Interstate 410 south. Traffic continuing northward along the old Loop 13 will have to u-turn within 300 feet. Photo taken 12/31/02. |

A closer look at the Interstate 410 Texas junction shield on Texas Loop 13 northbound at Farm to Market Road 78. In the background the road reduces to one lane as it turns to an industrial building. Oncoming traffic enters Loop 13 southbound from an Interstate 35 off-ramp. Photo taken 12/31/02. |

Traveling north along Texas Loop 13 onto the ramps for Interstate 410 north and the eastern beginning of Farm to Market Road 78. Traffic may access Interstate 35 southbound via a connector freeway or may continue eastward on the FM road to Interstate 35/410 northbound. Either way FM 78 enters the eastern suburb of Kirby within one mile before departing the city limits to Converse and Randolph A.F.B. Photos taken 12/31/02. |

These shields face the beginning of Loop 13 southbound at the W.W. White Road intersection with Seale Road. They feature Interstate 10, 35, and 410 Texas shields and a U.S. 90 trailblazer. Less than two miles separate this interchange with Interstate 35/410 and Interstate 10/U.S. 90 to the south. The area in the immediate vicinity of these shields is industrial in nature. Focusing just on the highway shields of Loop 13 southbound at Seale Road. A left-hand turn onto Seale Road links motorists with the northbound W.W. White Road ramps to the adjacent freeway. Although the state of Texas primarily uses neutered shields for all new assemblies, many state-name assemblies can still be found, especially in the San Antonio area. Photo taken 12/31/02. |
