Business Loop I-90 through Sheridan runs south along North Main Street with U.S. 14-87 Business to Downtown. Coffeen Avenue angles the route southeast across Little Goose Creek to a commercial strip west of Exit 25. U.S. 87 Business ends as U.S. 87 combines with Business Loop I-90 & U.S. 14 Business east along Brundage Lane to Interstate 90.

The North Sheridan Interchange Project extends Business Loop I-90 north to a new diamond interchange with Wyoming 338 (Decker Road). A joint $46.4 million project between WYDOT and the city of Sheridan, the new exchange replaces the trumpet interchange with North Main Street, located east of Big Goose Creek.1,2 The new ramp system addressed issues with the 1960s-constructed interchange, where truckers were required to accelerate to highway speeds along a nearly 7 percent grade.1

Phase one work, including the realignment of Decker Road and rebuilding North Main Street, started in summer of 2016. Phase two construction in 2017 focused on the North Interchange structure and new alignments for Main Street, Yellowtail Drive, Industrial Road and Decker Road. Phase three in 2018 reconstructs North Main Street from Fort Road to Goose Creek, and widens the westbound lanes of Interstate 90. Phase 4 expands the eastbound lanes of I-90.1

Work on the North Sheridan Interchange Project also includes two new storm water treatment systems for the city of Sheridan.2 Overall construction is scheduled for completion in October 2019.1
