| Colorado 177 follows University Boulevard north, serving the Forest Park, Cherry Knolls, Dream House Acres, and Cherry Hills Village neighborhoods. Upon reaching U.S. 285/Hampden Avenue (Arapahoe-Denver County Line), the state route ends, but University Boulevard continues north into the City of Denver, passing by Denver University before crossing Interstate 25/U.S. 87 at Exit 205. University Boulevard continues north as part of the Denver city street grid, changing to the one-way couplet of York Street and Josephine Street at Cherry Creek Mall (at Alameda Avenue). York/Josephine Streets continue north to serve Denver Botanical Gardens, City Park, and eventually Interstate 70 near Milepost 276. Photo taken 08/28/04.

| The next exit on westbound Colorado 470 is Exit 19, Broadway. Like University Boulevard, Broadway is another arterial street that originates in downtown Denver (at the railroad viaduct where Brighton Boulevard converts into Broadway Street north of Blake Street. Broadway then travels due south through downtown and the Denver communities of Golden Triangle, Byers, and Overland. Continuing south, Broadway crosses the cities of Englewood and Littleton before meeting Colorado 470 just south of the Arapahoe-Douglas County Line. Photo taken 08/28/04.
| The next three exits along westbound Colorado 470 are Exit 19, Broadway; Exit 17, Lucent Drive; and Exit 16, Junction U.S. 85/Santa Fe Drive. Photo taken 08/28/04.

| The next exit along westbound Colorado 470 is Exit 17, Lucent Boulevard. Unlike most of the other streets that have interchanged with Colorado 470 thus far, Lucent Boulevard does not travel north into the Denver city street grid since McLellan Reservoir blocks access into Arapahoe County. Originally known as Highlands Ranch Boulevard, the road was renamed Lucent Boulevard due to the proximity of the Lucent offices. Photo taken 08/28/04.
| The next three exits along westbound Colorado 470 are Exit 17, Lucent Drive; Exit 16, Junction U.S. 85/Santa Fe Drive; Exit 14, Junction Colorado 75/Platte Canyon Road. Photo taken 08/28/04.

| The next exit along westbound Colorado 470 is Exit 16, Junction U.S. 85/Santa Fe Drive. U.S. 85 is a near-expressway north of Colorado 470, following a heavily traveled commuter route through Littleton, Englewood, and Sheridan before entering the city/county of Denver. A light rail facility parallels U.S. 85 for a significant portion of the expressway route. Photo taken 08/28/04.

| This mileage sign provides the distance to the next three exits along westbound: Exit 16, Junction U.S. 85/Santa Fe Drive; Exit 14, Junction Colorado 75/Platte Canyon Road; and Exit 13, Junction Colorado 121/Wadsworth Boulevard. The freeway descends into the South Platte River Valley; U.S. 85 closely parallels the South Platte River through western Douglas County. Photo taken 08/28/04.
| Just prior to the South Platte River bridge, westbound Colorado 470 reaches its junction with U.S. 85 (Santa Fe Drive) at Exit 16. To the south, U.S. 85 turns away from the South Platte River and angles southeast back toward Interstate 25, serving Sedalia along the way. Interstate 25/U.S. 87 and U.S. 85 rejoin at Castle Rock; the three routes continue south on the freeway into El Paso County. Photo taken 08/28/04.
| After passing under the U.S. 85 bridges, Colorado 470 crosses briefly into Arapahoe County. Immediately thereafter, Colorado 470 leaves Arapahoe County and enters Jefferson County, where it will stay for the remainder of the route all the way to Golden. Photo taken 08/28/04.
| The next exit along westbound Colorado 470 is Exit 14, Junction Colorado 75, South Platte Canyon Road. This exit is only available to westbound traffic, and the exit is more like a "T" intersection than a full interchange. Travelers on southbound Colorado 75 can only turn onto westbound Colorado 470. The exit ramp requires a very slow rate of speed due to the sharp turn onto northbound Colorado 75. Photo taken 08/28/04.
| Due to the sharp turn from westbound Colorado 470 to northbound Colorado 75, a "right lane must turn right" sign is posted on the newly formed number three lane. This deceleration lane is required, but it is not enough to bring this particular interchange to full Interstate standards. Photo taken 08/28/04.
| Colorado 75 is a fairly short road, originating at this intersection on Colorado 470 and extending north along South Platte Canyon Road through Columbine Hills and Columbine Valley to Bowles Avenue. At Bowles Avenue, Colorado 75 turns east to cross the South Platte River, enter Littleton, and end at the intersection with U.S. 85, Santa Fe Drive. Photo taken 08/28/04.
| The right lane becomes exit only for northbound Colorado 75, South Platte Canyon Road. The left two lanes continue west on Colorado 470. There appears to be some additional right of way space in this area to accommodate an expansion of this interchange to a full interchange with service in all directions. Photo taken 08/28/04.
| The soundwall of an adjacent development comes closer to the freeway right of way after the Colorado 75 exit. This Colorado 470 west reassurance marker is found immediately after the onramp from southbound Colorado 75. Photo taken 08/28/04.

Photo taken 08/28/04.

| Westbound Colorado 470 reaches Exit 7, Bowles Avenue. This diamond interchange sees most of its traffic from the east, but there is a connection to the west side of the freeway and a pair of reservoirs. Nevertheless, Bowles Avenue dead ends on the west side of Colorado 470. To the east, Bowles Avenue serves the neighborhoods of Foothill Green, Woodmar, and Leawood as well as the Southwest Plaza Mall and Bowles Crossing Shopping Center. Photo taken 08/28/04.
| The next exit along northbound is Exit 6, Quincy Avenue, followed by the freeway to freeway interchange with U.S. 285. Quincy Avenue is a folded diamond interchange located only one-half mile south of the U.S. 285 interchange. Photo taken 08/28/04.

| The next exit on westbound Colorado 470 is Exit 2A, the transition ramp to westbound Interstate 70. The two left lanes continue as the mainline, with the (temporary) final westbound interchange at U.S. 6/6th Avenue. By 2010, plans call to construct a new freeway that would connect Colorado 470 at U.S. 6 with the Northwest Parkway near U.S. 36. By tying Colorado 470, the Northwest Parkway, and E-470, a complete, 360-degree beltway would encircle the metropolitan area of Denver. Photo taken 08/28/04.
| Now crossing over Interstate 70, the final two exits along westbound Colorado 470 are Exit 1B, Junction U.S. 6 east to 6th Avenue and Exit 1A, Junction U.S. 6 west to Clear Creek Canyon. The U.S. 6 shield is missing on this temporary sign. Photo taken 08/28/04.
