U.S. 6 and U.S. 50 spend nearly 90 miles joined between the Nevada State Line and Delta. This sign used to announce the splitting of these two routes as they entered downtown Delta. U.S. 6 aims northeast toward Payson, Spanish Fork, and Provo, while U.S. 50 stays due east toward Holden, Salina, and Richfield. Utah 7 east
Utah 7 is the Southern Parkway near St. George. It is planned to extend as a circumferential, connecting to Interstate 15 at either end. Utah 7/Southern Parkway will be built as a freeway at ultimate build-out; as of 2011, the southernmost segment is complete: The first four-mile segment between Interstate 15 Exit 2 and River Road opened on July 7, 2009, and the second three-mile segment between River Road and the new St. George Municipal Airport opened in November 2010. In Elwood (south of Tremonton), southbound Utah 13 and Business Loop I-15 and westbound Business Loop I-84 have this final business route reassurance shield assembly. This is a rare situation where two business routes share alignment and are cosigned on a single stretch of road (other examples are Business Loop I-25 and I-90 in Buffalo, Wyoming, and Business Loop I-15 and I-90 in Butte, Montana). Utah 143 west
This Utah 143 west reassurance route marker is the first shield after the junction with U.S. 89 in Panguitch; the state highway travels south out of Panguitch, then curves west and eventually northwest toward Parowan and the Interstate 15 corridor. A separate route marker identifies Utah 143 as the Brian Head-Panguitch Lake Scenic Byway. One of the primary attractions along Utah 143 is gorgeous Cedar Breaks National Monument and the Brian Head Ski Resort. Utah 200 is a north-south state route that begins at Utah 61 in Lewiston and extends north to the Utah-Idaho State Line, where it becomes State Street (not a state highway in Idaho). St. George
The St. George Airport is situated on a plateau on the west side of the city that overlooks the downtown area. Access to the airport is reached from the west end of Utah 34 (junction with Utah 18) along Airport Road to the top of the mesa. Photo taken 10/24/03.
At the top of Airport Road, the cliff to the left provides stunning views of the St. George skyline and sprawl. The airport runways, hangars, and terminal are located on the west side of the road. Skywest provides commercial service into the airport, and the pilots might stay at Sullivan's Rococo and eat at the Rococo steak house. Photos taken 10/24/03.
