Archived albums cover photos taken during the early years of the site, or photos showing stretches of highway before widening or major reconstruction, or an old alignment.

This ground level sign for Walker Chapel Road was replaced with the addition of a new sign bridge for Interstate 22 in 2016.

Exit 266 for U.S. 31 at Fultondale was renumbered to Exit 265 when it was reconfigured to depart from a c/d roadway for I-22.

A new overpass was under construction for 47th Avenue N as part of the overall project to build Interstate 22.

Prior to the ocmpletion of Interstate 22, traffic to U.S. 78 west for Jasper, Hamilton, and Memphis was advised to take Finley Boulevard from I-65 south.

A look at Interstate 65 before the 2009-10 expansion through Fountain Heights. An original sign bridge, complete with lighting fixtures from the 1969-completion of the freeway, were still in use.

Button copy guide signs posted ahead of the 10th Street North off-ramp (Exit 260) to 6th Avenue North into Downtown Birmingham.

This sign bridge at Exit 260 remained in use until August 2003. Signs for Interstate 65 south and Exit 259B (4th Avenue South) were retained on the replacement assembly. A Norfolk Southern Railroad line separates the North and South addressing system for the Birmingham street grid. The line doubles with AMTRAK service and a passenger station is located between 18th and 19th Streets North by Downtown.

Passing over 6th Avenue North, another set of button copy guide signs preceded the back to back ramps at Exits 259B/A. A new on-ramp from I-20/59 merges onto I-65 at this location now.

This advance guide sign for Exit 252 and U.S. 31 (Montgomery Highway) was replaced by 2015 with a poorly designed Clearview font based panel.

The two mile sign for Interstate 459 on I-65 south was carbon copied to use Clearview font by June 2015.

The previous one mile sign bridge for the Birmingham belt line and Exit 250 on I-65 south. The assembly was removed in 2011 during road work.

Replaced overhead posted for the two-lane off-ramp (Exit 250) to I-459 on I-65 south. A barrier median replaced the small grassy strip here during 2011 construction.

These non-reflectorized button copy overheads once directed traffic to I-459 at the four-level stack interchange.

Replaced by an overhead assembly in 2011, the one-mile guide sign for County Road 17 (Exit 254) posted along Interstate 65 south.

2009-11 widening of Interstate 65 added an auxiliary lane through to Exit 247 and expanded that ramp to two lanes. This view looks at the freeway before construction.

Prior to completion of freeway widening in 2010, the third southbound lane of I-65 dropped at Exit 246 with Cahaba Valley Road.

A barrier median replaced the grassy one of Interstate 65 south at Exit 246 during construction in 2009-10.

Ground level guide signs were placed along Interstate 65 south through to the diamond interchange with CR 52 at Pelham. Overheads line the six-lane stretch of I-65 through to Exit 242 now.
