Photos taken from our travels across the United States. Albums cover a variety of highway imagery including signs, bridges, interchanges, traffic control devices and other infrastructure. Archived albums cover photos taken during the early years of the site, or photos showing stretches of highway before widening or major reconstruction, or an old alignment.

Replaced overhead posted within the cloverleaf interchange (Exit 49) with U.S. 64 on I-26/U.S. 25-74 north. The new assembly installed by 2010 included the removal of overhead lighting. 05/31/07.

This Exit 40 sign was replaced by 2010. Oddly the right aligned exit tab was shifted to the center. 05/31/07.

What may have been an original shield for Interstate 26, posted after the NC 280 on-ramp. The assembly was replaced by 2007. 07/16/05.

I-26/US 74 west at the diamond interchange with NC 146 prior to the conversion into a SPUI. 05/31/07.

This reassurance marker for I-26 west posted north of NC 146 was removed after 2008 during construction and not replaced. 05/31/07.

Congestion signs and flashers were added between 2004 and 2005 to I-26 leading north into Asheville. This assembly was removed by 2013. 07/16/05.

A second congestion sign operated at the entrance ramp from NC 191. It was replaced with a Traffic Info radio advisory sign by 2008. 05/31/07.

This diagrammatic sign was posted when Interstate 26 ended at I-40 /240. Exit 31A was formerly Exit 1A. 06/23/00

An overlay showed the continuation of I-26 west onto I-240 east into Asheville. Signs here were replaced by 2010 with three separate panels. 05/31/07.

The original concrete along Future I-26/U.S. 19-23-70 in Asheville was overlaid with asphalt by 2007. 07/16/05

Sign replacements at Exit 23 changed New Bridge to Woodfin / N Asheville, but omitted U.S. 25. 08/23/03

Guide signs for Exit 9 were replaced in 2006 when U.S. 23A was designated along old U.S. 23 north to California. 07/16/05
