Sonoran Desert Parkway
MisterRoadgeek:
The Sonoran Desert Parkway in Maricopa, AZ has been getting closer to completion for the 2-mile segment and I wanted to share some photos I got of the new parkway. And it's full of MUTCD code violations already when it's not open yet and they plan on doing that tomorrow on Monday for local traffic according to the city's Mayor Nancy Smith, during the dispute with AK-Chin. But I wanna show you all the new parkway.
Intersection of Sonoran Desert Parkway and Manderas Lane
Absolutely no one way signs in sight which MUTCD Figure 2B-15 requires that
Intersection of Sonoran Desert Parkway and Smith Road
Intersection of Sonoran Desert Parkway and Porter Road
Driving East from AK Chin Casino
Speed Limit 40
Reduce Speed Ahead sign instead of Reduced Speed Ahead sign
What font is the Plaque on the T-Intersection sign? That sure isn't any MUTCD approved fonts.
Approaching Eastbound at Porter Road
Ends at Porter Road
Driving Westbound from Porter Road
Approaching Towards Manderas Lane Intersection
U Turn Intersection
Passing Manderas Lane Intersection
End towards the SR-347
I think the roadway needs more improvements with MUTCD code, because this parkway has plenty of MUTCD violations and it's a shame.

I take it you’re a stickler for nominal MUTCD non-compliance items? Trying to brand this corridor was a “Parkway” is a little odd considering how it is defined in this article:

Aside from that, what else really can be said? This isn’t a state facility so I guess I’m not surprised that isn’t ADOT standards.
MisterRoadgeek:
I think the city needs ensure its compliance, because the parkway has a few issues already when it's not opened up yet. And they plan on opening it up with a temporary configuration. According to InMaricopa, they plan on doing a Stop Sign configuration at SR-347 because the AK-Chin and City of Maricopa are in dispute with the project. The new intersection configuration would cut-off access to the entertainment center from the parkway, and the city said the Traffic Signal there will be at the expense of the community to allow access to the entertainment center from the parkway.

I’m still confused as what your expectation is here? All the MUTCD items you called out are minor and likely would never been noticed by the general public. This corridor is also far from complete despite a segment being close to opening.
The Ghostbuster:
I like this parkway's name better than the John Wayne Parkway name along AZ 347 (which the local Native American tribes' didn't want the late actor's name on anyway).
