Attached signs (hospital or camp areas etc) to overheads

Texas does it a lot extensively while North Carolina and I assume Virginia do not do it. Even when I was in New Jersey, I did not see them attached to the overhead sign, they are just mounted to the side. I don't like them that much because it just clutters the main mileage signs with extra unnecessary information.

I wonder which states do it besides Texas, Florida, and New York.

For hospitals, I know a lot of states don't attach it to the main exit sign.

There was an H symbol that was on top here in the 80s and 90s but was removed in 2011.

I'm pretty sure Québec has never done so for hospitals, but they have special banners on their BGSes for airports:
