Pretty sweet looking pictures!! I could not believe on how light it still was at 1:15am!!! It sure beats having sunsets at 4:45pm!!

that was a minute-long exposure.  it was dark :)

Can you actually see Russia from Wasilla?  I've always doubted the claim, as Russia is over 1,000 miles away from Wasilla.

Nope, that's just a joke.  You can see Russia from Little Diomede island in the Bering Strait (less than three miles from Russia's Big Diomede), and on a really good day maybe some other remote places in far western Alaska, but that's about it.
