I just ran across this website about America's Marine Highway Program:

http://www.marad.dot.gov/ships_shipping_landing_page/mhi_home/mhi_home.htm

Apparently, several identified marine corridors have been designated to serve as freight congestion relief routes for parts of the interstate system, and they have numbers that correspond to the interstates they serve (for example, M 71/77 provides relief for the I-71 and I-77 corridors).

In looking at the website, it appears that facilities serving these marine corridors might have a shield that roughly looks like an interstate shield (for example, look at the shields on this page - they may be identical, but I wonder if in the field they might display their respective numbers): http://www.marad.dot.gov/documents/Marine_Highway_Corridors13_Sep_10.pdf).

Does anyone know if such shields exist and, if so, does anyone have a photo or two they would be willing to share?

I've been on several of the Alaska Marine Highway System auto ferries that serve the America's Marine Highway corridor for Alaska.  None of them, nor the docks and other onshore facilities they use, bore an America's Marine Highway shield.

Never seen a shield on M-90 either.

Thanks for pointing it out.  I did not look far enough back on topic list  :banghead:.
