Description: This looks like a normal mileage sign like any other, and it is. The interesting thing about this one is that it's located in an urban area along a heavily traveled commercial strip. Normally I see this type of sign in rural areas, often right after leaving a town. But this one is smack in the middle of suburbia on a street that, while a numbered route (US 60), really serves as a local road here. There's a large indoor regional mall just to the right of this photo. On the sign, Middletown is just another suburb in the midst of Louisville's bedroom communities (though it was once surrounded by farmland, many many moons ago).
