Who in their right mind would think what this Chevy driver did was a good idea?

Amazed (well not really) that another lame Crash_It video got posted.
You didn't see him till the last moment. He didn't see you until the last moment.
Whatevs. Not sure where the common sense part of your title comes in, because clearly it's a residential area with cars parked on the roadway, limiting sight distance.
PS - Loved the "Come Onnnnn".

Gotta keep these harrowing commute videos through the concrete jungle exciting somehow.
I would pay money to see a Crash_It video on any of the following one-lane roads:
- Kaiser Pass Road
- Mineral King Road
- Nacimiento-Fergusson Road
- Blackrock Road
The driver merely pulled out of a small parking lot. Nothing out of the ordinary about it, really.

Did so when Mr. Crash_It was on the road.
That is not a smart move!

The video shows he got up to 33 mph about one or two properties away from the stop sign, on a relatively narrow street with parallel-parked cars. Yes, if the driver couldn't see that there was a car about to pull out onto the street, then he was driving too fast for the location.
Cra_shit strikes again. Don't forget to like and subscribe so we can all make him rich. :spin:

I disagree, the OP is after shock value because that is what his channel survives off of. The OP is just another peddler of garbage and sensationalized low quality media content. This just happens to be somewhat road oriented, hence why he posts it here.
This is why I threw out some of my favorite Forest Service Roads. I would love to see a Crash_It video where the he would actually have to drive somewhat skillfully outside of a pampered urban environment.

As a fellow Chicagoland driver, I disavow.
Narrow residential street, cars parked on one side, oncoming car, approaching a stop sign and corner businesses... 33 mph? Easily driving too fast for conditions. I'd be approaching that cautiously expecting someone to dash out at maybe 20-25 mph.
You get upset with the person... who had limited sight visibility and had no choice. You're speeding down the road and apparently he's at fault. If you were a true, skillful, defensive driver, you'd take account for the conditions around you, slow down, and anticipate someone to jump in front of you.

Speed limit on residential streets in that town is 30mph unless otherwise posted, there was plenty of sight visibility. I've came out onto streets in Chicago with worse visibility without issue (using the reflections in the parked cars as guidance). He didn't even try to look.
Just because the maximum posted is 30 mph doesn't mean you always drive at that speed. You were still in a narrow situation nonetheless (again, I personally would've slowed down to 20-25 mph to have a safer reaction time, and anticipate someone pulling out - it's called defensive driving which apparently you don't understand the concept of, as proven by many of your videos) and with no sight visibility, the guy pulled out and you appear out of nowhere. Again, there was nothing he could do. Your content on YouTube and claims are moot, and you like to gain clicks over often the most minor of mistakes by drivers, and nearly cause accidents in many instances (regardless of who's at immediate fault - if you would react defensively and anticipate, you'd avoid a lot of close calls).
Also, please, lay of the horn. You're doing no one a favor, and it's childish given the vast majority of the time you use it, it's because of the most minor error. It's funny, I've ran into situations similar to what you have many times, and have been able to comfortably anticipate, safely react, avoid any close calls, and rarely use my horn unless it's actually necessary.

Regardless of the speed limit, I want to see your annual bills for new brakes if you're consistently going 33mph that close to a stop sign. You were going to have to slam on your brakes whether there was another car there or not.

Illinois law states that drivers looking to enter a roadway must yield to all drivers on that roadway that are close enough to constitute an immediate hazard. He failed to do that. Therefore, if a crash resulted, he would be entirely at fault for not yielding to traffic

Are you seriously so self absorbed that you can't see that you were driving too fast for the conditions? All you ever do is layer up excuses and blame other drivers instead of admitting your own driving mistakes. This is the leading reason why thread suck, you have zero perspective and always have to be right. This is made worse by the fact that you sensationalize minor issues on urban roadways that probably aren't even worth talking about.
Crash_It sounds like an armchair attorney who reads something online and considers himself an expert. I'd laugh my arse off if he tried to represent himself in a tort action related to his running into one of the people he claims is "entirely" at fault. (The mere fact of his using the word "entirely" in a comparative-negligence state like Illinois betrays his ignorance.)

Maybe, maybe not. I suspect you might end up being found 20% at fault or something like that, more if you ended up rear-ending the other vehicle.
But that's not the point. The point is that people pull out of driveways and parking lots with nary a look for traffic all the time. You complain about the other driver's "lack of common sense", and I agree that common sense would dictate pausing to look for traffic first. However, you seem to be oblivious to
your own "lack of common sense".
Common sense would dictate going less than 33 mph on a quiet residential street with cars parallel-parked on one side, an oncoming vehicle on the other side, and a stop sign just up ahead. Common sense would dictate not blaring your horn for a good three seconds just because someone carelessly pulled out onto the street right in front of that stop sign. Common sense would dictate not putting "be safe" on screen at the end of your video while showcasing your own road rage in every other clip you post.
I've now watched the clip several times, including at 25% speed. And honestly, that driver's error–an error, yes–was pretty minor and quite forgivable. A reasonable person in that situation should have been able to assume that any traffic from his left would already be slowing down by that point–it being literally only 100 feet from a stop sign. Plus, by the time he could actually see around the parallel-parked vehicles, the nose of his vehicle would already be poking out into the street anyway. Instead, what he encountered was a driver
speeding up toward the intersection (surprise!) with little concern for who or what might be approaching from behind that wall of parked cars. I suppose it's a darned good thing it was a car and not a little girl running out into the street while playing tag in the apartment parking lot.

You could have let off the gas way before that car pulling out even came into your view, the conditions called for you to slow down. Just because you "can" go 30 MPH doesn't mean you ought to in all circumstances.
Some of the examples I gave above in jest like Kaiser Pass Road and Blackrock Road don't have a signed speed limit. Therefore the "legal speed limit" would by default 55 MPH. The conditions of those roads do not merit driving anywhere close to said speed limit. How is that any different than the neighborhood Street you were on? As someone already pointed out it could have very well been a child darting out rather than a car you encountered.
Since Crash_It is so law driven on his arguments and ignores any reality of the real world or accepting of criticism for his own reckless behaviors... (given he refuses to respond to any of it including a comment I made)
He was in violation of Illinois statute 625 ILCS 5/11-601 Section C by exceeding the default 30 mph urban speed limit by 3 mph, subject to a $120 fine. He, in addition, was in violation of Section A by driving a vehicle too fast for conditions regardless of the posted speed limit, when approaching an intersection and driving upon a narrow roadway.

Or, he looked and just simply didn't see you (it happens) or he looked and misjudged your distance and/or speed (it happens.) I've been on both ends of it. I've misjudged oncoming traffic before, and I've had people pull out in front of me. It's part of driving. You're trying to assign intent to deliberately pull out in front of you where there may not have been any.
If you are unsure of the speed of approaching vehicles you should not pull out. Period. I'm in that situation numerous times and if I find myself questioning the speed of approaching vehicles..guess what I do? I just wait for them to pass, I don't dart out in front of them. That's part of driving too.
HB didn't say the driver might have been "unsure" of your distance and/or speed. He said the driver might have "misjudged" it. He also said the driver might have looked but didn't see you–which you don't seem to consider a possibility.
Are you trying to say you've never misjudged the distance and/or speed of another vehicle, and that you've never looked and missed seeing something? If that's what you're trying to say, then you're a fool. We all do that. We're human.

Since Crash_It is so law driven on his arguments ...
Which is ironic, considering I haven't lived in Illinois since 2008 and yet still seem to remember more of the vehicle code than he manages to dig up when specifically looking for something.
To quote the section you referenced:
Quote from: Illinois General Assembly – Illinois Compiled Statutes
VEHICLES
625 ILCS 5 – Illinois Vehicle Code
Ch. 11 Art. VI – Speed Restrictions
Sec. 11-601 – General speed restrictions
(a) No vehicle may be driven upon any highway of this State at a speed which is greater than is reasonable and proper with regard to traffic conditions and the use of the highway ... The fact that the speed of a vehicle does not exceed the applicable maximum speed limit does not relieve the driver from the duty to decrease speed when approaching ... an intersection ... or when special hazard exists with respect to pedestrians ... Speed must be decreased as may be necessary to avoid colliding with any person or vehicle on or entering the highway in compliance with legal requirements and the duty of all persons to use due care.
Next, I suppose, he'll try claiming that that last bit didn't apply to him because the other "person or vehicle" wasn't "in compliance with legal requirements and duty". Ignoring the rest of it, of course.

Now I'm imagining something similar to that episode of The Big Bang Theory where Sheldon went to traffic court (and ended up in jail).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cc3Um-BBhpI
I've never watched that show. As a general matter, though, I was referring to a civil lawsuit (hence, "tort actions") where someone Crash_It hits sues him. His bleating about statutes won't be of much help in a "comparative negligence" state in which the jury members are free to assess the parties' relative fault. In a "contributory negligence" jurisdiction he'd stand a much better chance, but there are only five of those left in the USA (AL, DC, MD, NC, and VA) and DC is considering a change in their law.

Illinois states that drivers must obey the speed limit. Therefore, your video proof of exceeding the speed limit would likely contribute to your being found partly at fault for speeding.

Yup. At some point, just be the bigger man and just let the person in. There's no point in fighting because in the end, you'll both lose if you collide. There's that mantra: drive defensively, I like that one.
You know those stickers on the back of some trucks: "If you can't see my mirrors, I can't see you"? That's exactly what happened here.
The driver, unlike Mr. Crash_It's opinion, probably did look back. When that driver didn't see anyone, they started pulling out. And once you start pulling out, you should look at where you're going. Crash_It obviously didn't see that driver either until the person was already entering the roadway, Crash_It could've simply slowed down...after all, he was coming to a stop sign anyway, but decided waking up the neighborhood was a more appropriate solution.

My interpretation of what happened is a little different. Crash_It used his windshield washers after completing the overtake, resulting in wiper fluid hitting the Nissan's windshield, which provoked the Nissan driver into performing his own overtake so he could retaliate.
As a general rule, I avoid using my washers on the freeway on a clear day for precisely this reason. If I need to take care of water spotting, I try to run the washers when the car is not moving at speed.

I've occasionally gotten wiper fluid on my windshield from the car in front in clear conditions, and it generally makes me do a double-take and question whether I've unintentionally done something to annoy them.
But it's also pretty harmless and much less disruptive than something like brake-checking, so I wouldn't find tremendous fault with a driver for doing it without regard for the cars directly behind them. I've probably even done it myself a time or two.

There really was no reason for him to act that way. He had a head start and should've been at or even above speed by the time I was closing in on him, even in a weak pile of junk like that.
Evening news flash, Illinois is still flat.
Also, don't you drive a Chevy Cruze?

Another driver being butthurt over being passed due to their vehicle's lack of power
https://youtu.be/Rmz8fDOyRQ0
He's accelerating as the speed limit goes up. He's not doing it as suddenly as you are, but he's doing it. Then you cut right in front of him while he's still accelerating. Just about the biggest asshole move someone can pull on a highway. One of these days you're going to get punted into a ditch for doing that.
He was under the speed limit even before it went up, he had a head start even before I caught up to him. I just thought he was a typical slow driver in a shitty car so I passed him and had no other intentions.
You made a dangerous lane change when you cut in front of him without leaving enough room. Clear violation of traffic laws. We should submit this video to the State Police so they can issue you a citation.
I did not make a dangerous lane change, I saw his entire vehicle in my mirrors before moving over. He possibly was speeding up as I was moving over and that's a violation of IL law.
You did make a dangerous lane change, and you slowed down after doing so. I timed the distance between markers before and after the lane change and you definitely slowed down. You are violating multiple traffic laws and posting videos of it.
I did not cut him off or slow down. Look at the speed stamp. Not once did it drop below 55 until after he brake checked

Not anymore. Now I drive a car made by an automaker that doesn't make crap.
So now you're adding car shaming to your list of tropes?
Not really, it's been proven that certain cars are just crap. I just show why. If the cars weren't crap, I wouldn't spotlight. Thinking back to all the road rage encounters I've had. It was almost always someone who drives a vehicle that is either... Old , discontinued (automaker doesn't make them anymore) or crap (prone to defects prematurely).
Road rage is caused by humans, not the type of car you have.
I've driven plenty of General Motors products as commuters, none of them gave me road rage. In fact I had a 2014 Chevy Sonic which had powertrains identical to the Cruze, never gave me road rage. Your poor driving ability and behaviors just shows that any car in the wrong hands is hazard on the road. Then again, you're the one is deluded enough to think you're a safe driver because of narcissism. Why you keep coming here to seek affirmation for your behaviors from a road community that has largely shunned you is kind bizarre.
BTW, Illinois is still flat.

You're going to need to look harder to find someone to believe your lies. From the time the speed disappears from your video until the time it reappears, the time it takes to pass each section of roadway decreases, and then increases again after moving over.
There's no law in Illinois about how long it should take someone to accelerate when the speed limit increases. You're an impatient child who uses a powerful car to compensate for other shortcomings and couldn't wait an extra 10 seconds for him to speed up, so you started to pass him, then cut him off when he continued to accelerate.

Did the calculations 3 times. Very unusual that the speeding up and slowing down occurred while your speed, which is pretty much ALWAYS on all of your other videos, was absent from this one for that handful of seconds, so I decided to investigate.
At :25, the speed, showing 55 at that time, disappears from your screen. I time your speed increase from that point up to the 42 second mark (just after moving back to the right lane) to be about 15%, and then decrease by that same 15% until the :48 mark, when the 55 mph speed shows back up in your video.
You literally sped up to close to 65 to pass the steadily accelerating car in the right lane, then slowed back down to 55 after pulling in front of him.

I never got road rage in the Cruze either. I just don't tolerate people who make shitty driving decisions. Like the guy in this video for example. He had at least 10 seconds to get to speed but didn't until after I passed him. Instead of hanging back to wait for him to possibly never get to speed, I passed. There's nothing wrong with that.

The speed stamp is conveniently missing during that part of the video, which is why I had to time it.
Well your timing is off because not once did I slow down. I had adaptive cruise control enabled.
There really was no reason for him to act that way. He had a head start and should've been at or even above speed by the time I was closing in on him, even in a weak pile of junk like that.
Go peddle your trash somewhere else.
I'm not lying. You know damn well that if someone was driving similarly you would pass. That's why there are multiple lanes on a road.
That's not what you're lying about. After you passed him you slowed down as you dangerously moved back in front of him.
I'm not lying about anything. Your calculations are off.. period.
The front footage disappears because that section wasn't saved/locked. I locked it when I noticed him going slow then locked it after he threw his tantrum. So, again.. your calculations are off and I didn't speed up then slow down.
It must be a sad life if you run your car cam for the purpose of posting videos of people you don't know and will never meet in an attempt to shame or embarrass them -- people that, odds are, will never see your videos.

Your car passes dashed lines at a peak of about 15% faster in between the times when the speed shows up on the screen. Maybe IDOT painted the dashed lines 15% closer together in that section.

You have an entire video library documenting your own road rage. Why you can't see that lends suggestion you either have a mental health issue or you're just a simply a shyster trying to make money on YouTube views. Given your responses to actual facts and critique neither explanation would surprise me. Regarding tolerance, I'm not sure why any of us would tolerate you and the garbage you're peddling. That nickname we gave you "Cra_shIt" is well deserved.

Your calculations are off.. period.
The front footage disappears because that section wasn't saved/locked. I locked it when I noticed him going slow then locked it after he threw his tantrum. So, again.. your calculations are off and I didn't speed up then slow down.
Your car passes dashed lines at a peak of about 15% faster in between the times when the speed shows up on the screen. Maybe IDOT painted the dashed lines 15% closer together in that section.
Frame rate of the rear cam is higher than the front (60fps vs 30fps) that can sometimes cause things to appear faster since the frames have to be doubled. I was not speeding and I didn't cut him off.

It must be a sad life if you run your car cam for the purpose of posting videos of people you don't know and will never meet in an attempt to shame or embarrass them -- people that, odds are, will never see your videos.
I don't run it for that purpose. I also show videos of scenic drives.
Sure didn't jive with the brand narrative before you changed your channel name.
I've always done that even before the name change. Probably just not as much.

@Crash_It it doesnt matter who done it, its basically your own fault for speeding. My mother got her right side on her car SMACKED right dab into a construction worker for 540. Did she say it was the driver's fault?
I wasn't speeding.
Yeah, right.
You were wrong, admit it.
My mother would dig until the right answer is shown, and usually reads my mind.
There's nothing wrong about passing someone accelerating slower than a turtle. You sound like someone who would wait behind a semi rather than pass it.

I want to get this in b4 lock ... he only posts these sad and sorry videos in a sad and sorry attempt to
monetize them. If we don't click on them (or otherwise engage him), he gets nothing. It might be time to place this aggravator on a time-out, otherwise the banhammer should swing.
Can we also ban the multi-multi-multi-multi-multi-multiquotes? I feel like I'm looking into a mirror reflecting me in another mirror, reflecting......... It's not that hard to edit, even on a phone.

I asked Scott5114 to add a warning (similar to the new post while typing warning) if there are 6 or more quote tags. Unfortunately, the software doesn't allow it.
A question someone asked on his Youtube page for this video (which, btw, has more dislikes than likes):
Quote
Didn't I see you wash your windshield first? I think that's what triggered this incident.
His answer:
QuoteHe was tailgating which is what made me do it. The fact that he was tailgating and possibly even attempted to speed up to prevent me from getting in front means that he was already triggered.
It's a dual lane roadway. There was no one in front, or behind, of Cra_shit when he was in the left lane. Why would the other driver possibly care about him passing and getting in front while they were in their own separate lanes?

The videos are already monetized (every eligible youtuber does it) , I don't need to post externally in order to get monetized. I don't post in an attempt to gain revenue.

I know I'm not a perfect driver, I say that in a disclaimer before every compilation. But one thing is certain...I drive better than everyone that I show.
I think most people disagree with that too. You understand that when all these crazy things happen to you, for the common denominator, right?
Chris
