There must be something hilarious about buying butter.  Every time I do, the receipt says "LOL BUTTER".

Land O Lakes butter. If we buy their spreadable butter at Wegmans (which we usually don't; we buy the store brand), the receipt says "LOL LIT BUTT."

Imagining the response from the 'wokies' if someone flies a route from Fresno, CA to Sioux Falls, SD (hint, check the airport codes that would be on the baggage tags).

Sioux City? I'm not seeing anything wrong with the Sioux Falls airport code.

I'm an Engineer. That means I solve problems. Not problems like "What is beauty?", because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of philosophy. I solve practical problems and call them "paychecks".

I still don't get the joke with FSD, Google results are mostly "full self-driving". :hmmm:

And this is why one of the cities needs to change its name.

(In case anyone missed it, Sioux City isn't even in South Dakota.)  (Well, almost, though.)

This is something about which I've never really thought. What do blind people see?

My understanding is that is depends on the individual's type of blindness. Not every blind person is deprived of light, color, and value in the same ways.

Some are no color nor light (total darkness), some see very dimly, some have varying levels of light perception, and others have no visual focus (can detect color, hue, shade, tint, but everything is blurred).

CNGL-Leudimin likes to post the Happy New Year thread once his time zone (CET, since he's from Spain) enters the new year.  But since you're in EET, you could ninja him in 7 minutes...

For a second there I thought JST was "Jake Standard Time".  Shouldn't have taken as long as it did to realize that the J was for "Japan".  :-D

And remember that it is UTC+11 only in local summer when it uses DST, otherwise it is on UTC+10.
