"East" is a directional prefix, so that's a no-go.

I can't find any evidence of that from searching the online GIS map of DuPage County. The East is spelled out on their map, which I would think means it's part of the name. Other roads that cross the E/W dividing line in Wheaton aren't labeled on the map with their directional prefixes–they're only seen when you query individual properties for their address.

FWIW Springfield, MO has West Bypass, which runs N-S along the west side of town.

So everyone disagrees with me and believes "East Loop" is invalid?

oscar

I am more sure that we should keep things moving, than that "East Loop" is invalid. FWIW, my inventory includes an "East Bypass", which I've indexed under "B" rather than "E". In that community, there is also a "West Bypass", which doesn't quite meet or intersect East Bypass.

This could use some clarification from the OP.

I tend to figure, generally speaking, if "East X Road" crosses another road and becomes "West X Road", as was the case with that one, "East/West" are clearly prefixes.

This one gets a Loop into the game, if someone has a P____ to play from it (I don't).
