Is there a plan by AR to connect its section of I-57 to MO's via concurrent construction like it did for I-49 on the Bella Vista Bypass? That would be great, and I hope it happens.
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Based on the current funding timings, it appears Missouri will get their funding in place before Arkansas does. Therefore one must assume MoDOT will have their work done as far as CR-252, south of Neelyville, but a couple of miles short of the state line.

Just like what occurred on the Bella Vista, there is a sub-group of MoDOT and ARDOT planners working on the details of the state line crossing.

But as noted MoDOT is ahead of ARDOT on many of the required permits and land acquisition.

ARDOT just got their ROW recommendation and is still having to go through public hearings and land acquisition activities. It is possible, that a land issue might preclude an agreement on the joint ROW.

I believe it was @Rick Powell who shared that I-155 was delayed in Illinois for years over a land value squabble with a large farmer. They chose not to move the highway but pursue a lengthy legal process.

Lets hope that doesn't occur in this case.

Did someone say Phase 3 and 4?

QuoteMoDOT to Hold Public Hearing to Discuss Upgrading U.S. 67, Roundabout at C/V/160 in Butler County

SIKESTON-The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 to discuss phases 3 and 4 of the multi-phase project to upgrade U.S Route 67 in Butler County. Proposed plans for constructing a roundabout at Routes C and V and Route 160 will also be shared.

The hearing will be held at Neelyville Schools in the cafeteria, located at 289 Broadway St., Neelyville, Missouri.

Phase 3 of the U.S. 67 project includes future access at Neelyville, Missouri and upgrading an approximately five-mile section of U.S. 67 to four lanes from County Road 352 to near County Road 272. Phase 4 includes upgrading the last three-mile section of U.S. 67 to reach the Missouri/Arkansas state line. Right of way and easements will be acquired for this project.

With funds previously dedicated to the U.S. 67 corridor and the additional $60 million in funding from general revenue, a total of 7 miles of interstate-standard upgrades are now funded. This will bring the progress to Neelyville, Missouri and will allow a portion of phase 3 to be constructed.

"Currently, we have funding for phases 1B and 2, which will tentatively be let in September 2024," said MoDOT Project Manager Tim Pickett. "The next segment that's funded for construction extends from County Road 352 to near Neelyville. This project will include upgrading the segment to four lanes and possible access upgrades at Neelyville. Tentatively, this could be let as early as March 2026."

Pickett explained once the 7 miles of funded upgrades are completed, 4.5 miles will remain to reach the Missouri/Arkansas state line.

During the meeting, construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Routes C and V and Route 160 in Butler County will be discussed. This intersection is located west of the Route 160/158 interchange south of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

The public hearing will be open house style, and visitors can stop-by anytime between 4 and 7 p.m. to discuss the details of the projects with the project team.

For more information, please contact Pickett at (573) 472-9003 or MoDOT's Customer Service Center toll-free at 1-888-ASK MODOT (275-6636).

So if I'm understanding this, only half of phase 3 will be built, roughly up to Route 142? What about the rest of the road?

I guess they'll apply for federal grants?

MoDOT initiated a study for the 11-mile section of U.S. Route 60 from the I-55/I-57/US 60 interchange in Sikeston, Missouri to County Road 593 to extend Interstate 57 from I-55 in Sikeston, Missouri to Little Rock, Arkansas. This project is currently unfunded for construction.

MoDOT will hold a public meeting from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19 to discuss the Route 60 conceptual study in New Madrid and Scott Counties. The meeting will be held at MoDOT's Southeast District Office, located at 2675 North Main Street in Sikeston, Missouri....

U.S. Route 60 currently runs east-west across southern Missouri. The segment of interest is a four-lane divided highway running from I-55 and I-57 near Sikeston west to Poplar Bluff. This roadway carries between 9,600 and 15,300 vehicles per day, including 3,600 trucks. There is interest in extending I-57 west from its current terminus at I-55 along U.S. 60 to Poplar Bluff and then south on U.S. 67 to the Arkansas border. The ultimate goal is to complete I-57 from I-55 in Sikeston, Missouri to Little Rock, Arkansas.

To extend I-57, it will be necessary to upgrade U.S.  60 to interstate standards. The corridor includes many at-grade intersections in addition to multiple field entrances, median crossovers, and private driveways. MoDOT has initiated this study to take a preliminary look at options for upgrading the roadway to improve safety and traffic flow. Engineers will consider factors such as roadway capacity, local access, safety, environmental issues, and the movement of goods. The study is anticipated to be the first step in a multi-step process to upgrade U.S. 60 to I-57.

I looked at my atlas, and didn't see that US 60 went through New Madrid county.  It appears to go through Scott, Stoddard, Butler, and possibly Mississippi counties in Missouri.

The Ghostbuster

As the website stated, there will be a public information meeting on Thursday from 4-6 PM. Hopefully, the PIM will give us more information about what they plan to do along the US 60 corridor between Poplar Bluff and Sikeston.

Going by Google Maps, US 60 from the 55/57/60 interchange to just east of the 60/MO 114 crossing is in the northern edge of New Madrid County

County Line Rd/Lynual St (broken up by US 60) is the county line near the I-55 interchange
