I-59: AL/GA
I-64: WV/VA
I-69: IN/MI

I-95 in PA and NJ (though I did cross it on the old route)
Quote from: thspfc on April 19, 2022, 11:15:18 PM
94 WI and IL

My guess is these are going to be the two most common answers, the first one for the reason mentioned, and the second because the I-90/I-94 situation seems custom-made for this thread: I-94 literally leaves I-90 and crosses the state line, only to rejoin it less than 150 miles later.

I-95 DE-MD might also be common because shunpiking.
Interstates I've clinched: 97, 290 (MA), 291 (CT), 291 (MA), 293, 295 (DE-NJ-PA), 295 (RI-MA), 384, 391, 395 (CT-MA), 395 (MD), 495 (DE), 610 (LA), 684, 691, 695 (MD), 695 (NY), 795 (MD)

I would also just guess that I-95 in PA is pretty easy to miss in general, because so many people would go I-95->I-295->NJTpk.  I only finally travelled on it this past October because I went out of my way to (to finish all of I-95).

I-29   MO/IA
I-40   OK/TX

See my note of caution in reply #4... almost did the same thing myself but I-70 actually goes through WV between OH and PA.

I even read that post, but I guess I was too tired to notice my own mistake. :-D

It's not a mistake if you accept my trivial MI/WI I-94 entry.

Clarification: I mentioned "neighboring states on route"  in the op, so don't count borders where two states border each other, but the route doesn't cross that border and goes through another state or two in between.

We can also expand this topic to 3dis.

For me:
I-265: KY/IN
I-275: KY/OH

Could expand to US routes as well. I'll make the change in the op.

I'll have so many of those. There goes my afternoon.  EDIT: Not as bad as I thought. See below.

I think I have more US routes that I used in two neighboring states without crossing the state line than with crossing it, due to the nature of a lot of them acting as local routes to parallel interstates  :-D

GaryV

US routes, quickly off the top of my head:
US 41, MI/WI and WI/IL
US 24, MI/OH
US 6, OH/PA

It's possible I've never crossed the IL/MO line on I-255, but I'm not 100% sure.  That's the only one I can come up with.

From what I can see, none of the interstates I've traveled on satisfy these criteria. Nope, turns out I actually do:

I-55: AR/TN

And I have a few US Routes:

US 64: AR/TN
US 70: AR/TN
US 190: TX/LA

Probably a bunch of US routes, but for interstates, off the top of my head:

20: AL-GA, GA-SC
29: MO-IA
35: TX-OK, OK-KS, KS-MO, MO-IA
78: NJ-NY (if that counts)
85: GA-SC, SC-NC
89: NH-VT
90: MT-WY, SD-MN, IL-IN
94: WI-IL

Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

jp the roadgeek

Since we're expanding to 3di and US Routes:

Can't think of any 3DI's.  Would be easier to list the borders I have crossed.

US Routes
US 1: MA/NH
US 6: RI/MA
US 9: NJ/DE
US 11: MD/PA
US 13: DE/PA
US 202: NJ/NY and MA/NH

I could put US 44 RI/MA with an asterisk.  The only portion of what is now US 44 I've been on in MA is the portion concurrent with MA 3, but it was before the concurrency was created.

Would love to meet someone who could list I-684 :)
Interstates I've clinched: 97, 290 (MA), 291 (CT), 291 (MA), 293, 295 (DE-NJ-PA), 295 (RI-MA), 384, 391, 395 (CT-MA), 395 (MD), 495 (DE), 610 (LA), 684, 691, 695 (MD), 695 (NY), 795 (MD)

I'm surprised I'm not the only one on here with I-29 MO/IA.  Is it because y'all have used them in KC and either Council Bluffs or Sioux City but not in the rural areas between them?

For me, I've driven the stretch from KC up to St Joseph but then kept going north on US-71 that trip.  I've also driven up into Council Bluffs (and on to Sioux City) but had entered I-29 from NE-2 on that trip.  So the stretch from I-229 to NE-2 is a gap for me.

Surprisingly not that many.

5:  CA/OR (I haven't been on it south of Salem, or north of LA.)
64:  WV/VA (I took the WV Turnpike, and then the I-95 concurrency in Richmond.)
70:  PA/MD (I took I-68/I-79.)
94:  WI/IL  (I don't think I've driven between Milwaukee and Chicago.)
95:  PA/NJ (Yeah, the standard.)

Edit:  Fix typo; I-94 doesn't even go into WA!
