I have questions about the fourum positions.... So far I have this:
Parking Lot: 0-2
Dirt Road: 3-19
Frontage Road: 20-xx
Arterial: xx-xx
County Road: xx-xx
State Road: xx-xx
I'm not sure what comes after SR.
Anyone got anymore info?

I can't resist adding that it is also possible, though more intuitive, to figure it out using the members page, sorted by total posts (https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?action=mlist;sort=posts;start=0;desc).

Ok, but now I must know... how do you get the NE2 rank? ("Likes This Forum Way, Way too Much" )?
I think it's over 10,000 posts.

I believe that's correct; although we'll have to wait until another non-DOT employee or non-moderator hits 10,000 to find out for sure ;-)

Do something astounding and continuous such that the mods will manually give you a non-standard rank. IIRC, a few others have non-standard ranks that the mods created manually.
In fairness, though, NE2 has been in the hobby for a couple decades.

It's automatic at 10000. hbelkins has it, too.

I've been at this long than NE2 has, and I don't have any special titles around here.

Alps and agentsteel53 are also part of the user group.
Although "Likes the forum way, way too much" was a user group for a long time, we didn't start including it in the list until someone actually reached 10,000 posts.

There's two possible interpretations of this statement:
(1) No one knew about the group's existence until NE2 hit 10,000, assuming he was first. In other words, the visible list previously stopped at "interstate".
(2) It is very much possible to "like the forum way, way too much" and still have less than 10,000 posts (in which case, I guess I'm already in that user group :-P).

If I recall correctly, agentsteel53 was the first person on this forum to achieve over 10,000 posts, and I think that at the time I joined this forum (July 2014), he was the only person to have more than 10,000 posts. I think NE2 was next, then Alps and hbelkins.
All this matters, why?

My posting spans here are 2011-2012 and 2017-2018, so that obviously has an impact on the totals.
I wondered why my rank didn't increase at 2,500 and now I see why.
On the old Usenet newsgroup misc.transport.road, which last saw significant usage in 2011, I had over 15,000 posts dating from 1997, and that was the highest poster by a wide margin. The Google archives at least back then had the ability to calculate those totals and for me that was using three different e-mail addresses.

Maybe 15% or so. I posted in a lot of threads that were cross-posted to the urban transit and urban planning newsgroups. He only posted sporadically in them. Remember posters in those threads like Robert Cote, Colin Leech, Rob Dubnicka, Ross Williams, Leroy Baxter, Larry Grossbelch, George Conklin, Jack May, John David Galt, and others.
