A 75 foot bridge in Hampden, Maine was replaced in December using brand new technology. The bridge is made of composite materials that are resistant to corrosion, which will enormously extend the bridge's lifespan. Apparently, it can be installed in just 72 hours. It was developed by a company in Brewer with assistant from the University of Maine and they say they've got customers in Rhode Island and Florida.

It's always good to read about progress in highway engineering.

We all know what happened last time someone tried to build a bridge too quickly in Florida...
