Harding Circle presently is a component of Florida State Road 789 on St. Armands Key located in the City of Sarasota.  Harding Circle was dedicated during 1928 when the first John Ringling Causeway was completed from downtown Sarasota to St. Armands Key.  For most of it's history the State Road network bypassed Harding Circle in favor of Washington Drive.  Harding Circle was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001 which was accentuated thereafter by the third John Ringling Causeway opening in 2003.  The addition of Harding Circle to the National Register of Historic Places along with the most recent John Ringling Causeway being completed seems to be the impetus for it being assumed as part of Florida State Road 789.
