Reminder about quoting

I've been seeing (and fixing) a lot of posts where the quoting has unintentionally gotten mangled. Most of the time it is due to quoting a post that already has a quote in it. Just wanted to remind you all that your reply should go at the very bottom of the message. This ensures that all the quote tags have been closed off and your message won't appear in the middle of the gray field representing someone's post. Jumping to the end of the message is simply done by pressing Ctrl+End in darn near any sort of editing window you're using.

Remember that whether you use Quick Reply or the full fledged reply form, you're offered the chance to preview your message. If you have some iffy quote code, you might want to use that to check for its well-formedness.

Also, if you're quoting a post that has a nested quote in it that isn't strictly necessary for the purposes of allowing people to follow the conversation, consider deleting it. Just look for the first {quote} tag before the start of the unneeded message, and delete until the next {/quote} tag. Be sure to preview to ensure you didn't delete too much, though!
