Yanks did you find an Ontario for free, and if so where did you find it?

yanksfan6129

corco: I did get a free Ontario map.

OK, on that page go down to the Ontario map, then check of the box that says "request physical copy", then scroll down the page some more and click the "order" button.

You're the man, the ONMOT site wanted to charge me C$10

Probably getting rid of old stock first.

PennDOT kept sending me copies of the 2007A official when the 2007B version was being distributed at the welcome centers.

I finally got PA the other day along with GA

Is it the 2009 (with a complete I-99) or a 2007B (Fallingwater on the cover)?

This thread was a good reminder for me to request some new maps.  Haven't done so in over a year.

So on Tuesday I requested a map from about 15-20 different departments or ministries of transportation.
Then  I received:
2 business days later: SC
3: GA
4: none
5: TN, MI, AR, NC, IN

So some DOTs are very quick at sending these!

NYSDOT doesn't provide this service, correct?

Can't say I blame DOTs for going to a biannual publishing cycle. OK generally goes biannual, but 2007 and 2008 both got their own map so the '07 could be a Centennial Edition. And as it so happens, as far as I can tell, there was exactly 1 change from the 2008 to the 2009-10 map. Highway systems just don't change as quickly as they did back in the day.

What changes? The new portion of the Gilcrease?  Also, was OK 88 shown as 4 lanes north of Inola on the 08 map?

Scott5114

Yes, that is the change I was referring to. I didn't notice OK-88; that is indeed new, and it no longer shows 88 going to Inola. Was it truncated?

Remember how this works, Jeremy, I don't care about anything east of US-377, and you have to tell me if anything interesting happens! :pan:

No truncation.  OK 88 is 4 lanes divided from US 412 to about halfway to Claremore.

And likewise, I don't really care about anything west of 377.  I live in Indian Territory (Sequoyah) not Oklahoma Territory.  They really should have split them into two states when they had the chance.

Scott5114

So they introduced a map error for no reason? Grand.

Are there countries that provide a free transportation (road) map from their (equivalent of a) DOT as many US states and Canadian provinces do? If so, are any  willing to ship to the US?

In Europe: Not that I know of. Some countries have brochures, like the Danish "Motorvej" publication that tell all about the road, signs, laws etc. Some countries publish free roadwork maps, but usually only at gas stations.

bugo

I don't believe OK 88 was truncated to US 412 north Inola.  Every time I've been through there it's either been on 412 or old 33.  I seem to remember seeing an OK 88 SOUTH trailblazer south of US 412.  Next time I'm in the area I'll check it out, or maybe I'll make a special trip since it's only about 30 miles from here.  Maybe I'll scrounge up some change and clinch a new part of the Creek Turnpike while I'm at it.
