I'm more interested why my most popular section for activity is the urban planning one. I barely check that section.
It could potentially be up to 20 boards if your top ten percentage-wise are different than your top ten total posts-wise. Personally, I can view three more by hovering over the pie graphs on the left side for a total of 13.
Doing some quick profile math:
10 boards visible on the right, total 5,675 posts
3 more boards visible by hovering on the left, total 173 posts
Combined total 5,848 of 5,929, or 98.6%.
Sure, it would be interesting to know where my other 81 posts are - but I already know they're mostly in international and the various other regional boards, so while I would support this change, it's not a big deal for me and probably the same way for most other users.

There are so few posts in that board that even a few posts is a large percent. Most of your posts are in General Highway Talk which has a huge amount of posts.

that board's activity, not your activity. Urban planning and design is a fairly new board, so there's not as many old threads and posts driving down your share.

Ok that makes sense. I thought the most popular sections by activity is how much of my total time online on the forum is spent browsing a specific section.
You can see that number by hovering over the pie charts (although it's posts, not time spent browsing)

The more interesting thing, at least to me, is how users compare to each other. In particular, how some users will go weeks between posts, and yet others could post dozens of times per day. And then looking at some of those more active users: are they posting a bunch of fluff, or actual useful content? Minor stuff. Looking at percent-of-posts in a board, it's insane to me to think I personally account for 1-in-10 posts in the Northwest board. That alone isn't a helpful stat, but it puts into perspective
for me how I spend my time on here.

I do have a full time job, and sometimes wonder how others do it as well. I'll be the first to admit I spend too much time here, but on most days, I just can't resist checking in throughout the day. And then once I post something, well of course I
have to check back for replies.
As for whether it's a problem, I actually think it is - not because I'm not getting my job done, more because there's a few long-term items that get the shaft and I feel a tad guilty - but it's one of those things where it might take someone else to tell me so before I change my habits. Hopefully it won't have to come to that.

- I'm pretty active in regards to going out and doing things related to the road hobby.
- I don't have kids or anyone asking for much attention at home and I almost constantly multitask.
- I have a job with really dull lulls which is when I spend most of my times on this forum and other road pages.

Ditto. I actually perused Fictional Highways once upon a time. Then, it dawned on me that I didn't have to subject myself to it.
Fictional highways has some good stuff, just ignore FritzOwl.
Not for me. Although I am interested in actual, real proposals, roadgeek dreams that are mostly separated from engineering realities just aren't worth my time.

But that's the exception and not the rule. Most of the non-Fritz stuff still reads like Freewayjim Fan Fiction.
Freewayjim? What does he have to do with this?
It's an analogy for subpar road hobby content and posters.
Now that said, that isn't a jab at Freewayjim himself nor his videos. What I am saying though is that a lot of the people who post on his page are new to the hobby or don't really understand how transportation works. That's more or what typically comes up on the Fictional Board as well.

A minor thing drives me up the wall is my almost complete inability to immediately proof read something I just wrote (case and point given the context with could/couldn't can be taken differently). When I do serious writing I'll reread the entire document after I've wrote it. I always catch proofreading errors I didn't see on my initial scan.

Oh, the irony that neither HB nor I care about our post count, and that Jake has no desire to participate in the forum at all anymore.
I was among the top 10 posters....on Misc.transport.road....back in 2001 & 2002.

It might have been back when there was much less activity. I remember when I could read most everything on the forum in an hour or two. Now doing the same would take half a day.
I support this idea.
I make up 3% of the sports board, but in terms of posts my top board is General.
