An ODOT miracle. I didn't think it was possible. A good-looking, modern sign with no Clearview.

I like the black border around the US 62 shield. One of the few good things ODOT does.

It's like a unicorn, isn't it?

Of course, they manage to whiff it by putting the wrong type of arrow on the exit direction sign ½ mile later, but at least the advance signage is nice.

Utah used to do that all the time with a slightly thicker border. I want to say a black border directly on a green sign is banned now though, which is why they stopped doing that about 10 years ago.

This sign was erected by a private entity, but as of 2019, this sign still stood, making it one of the only button copy signs in Canada.

Someone tell Stephen Colbert. Might make it on the show.  :bigass:

That sign in the background...  I don't know what it's saying...

To request green, skateboarders wait on cyclists.

Does that really make the light turn green?
Keep right except to pass.  Yes.  You.

^^ there probably is a sensitive detector around that area.

This must be one of the only button copy signs in Houston. Also note the very faded 610 shield:

Might not be around much longer because this piece of road is about to get a major reconfiguration.

If that's the case, then... I still don't know what it means.

The skateboarding guy isn't part of the original sign. Some random person stuck it there later on.

It means, if you are riding a bike, to position your bicycle on the matching bicyclist symbol painted on the street, because there's a bike-sensitive detector installed in the pavement there, and it will cycle the signal for you. If you wait elsewhere, the sensor is calibrated to detect cars and won't pick up a bike, so it won't cycle the signal.

Man I'll have to check this out! Not too many old signs left in Texas.

Here's a button copy relic.  This is on Redondo, just south of Rosecrans, in north Manhattan Beach, CA.  That is a movie/TV studio in the right distance "Welcome To What's Next").

A few fantastic signs still linger in the White River Junction, VT, area.

Found an old US 11 sign near Slidell, Louisiana (photo taken in June):

Nothing better than a classic button copy in good condition. I-585 in Spartanburg SC, taken January 2021.

Annnnnnnnnnnnd the last standing button copy sign in NYC's Staten Island.  It doesn't even serve traffic anymore.  When the toll booths were removed, they narrowed I-278 but left this sign.

This one is a real beaut! It's real cool how they clipped the corners of the main BGS to match the turnpike shield. I'm also liking the different tones of green.

A QC-360 shield that was recycled from Route 38 (or 33, but I'm 80% sure it's 38).

An old one (from 2009!): Route 8A behind a QC-197 shield in Rivière-au-Renard. Sadly, it has been gone for a while now. Since I had a cheap digital camera at the time and it was nighttime, the quality of the pictures is less than ideal, but you can click on them to enlarge them.
