It seems impossible that I wouldn't have the SWFla 876s, but I don't.  Just a Texas F.M. 876 from I-35E.  July 24, 2005.

Adding very little variety...

I think that's what was expected of this thread...at this point, you have state-route numbers Texas, Louisiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Florida remaining; some from Maryland, Washington, Mississippi, and a handful of higher interstate numbers. After that, some local county/township  routes and not much else.

On to 879.

So here's even less variety.  Same sign for Pennsylvania 879 from I-80, but no snow.  July 10, 2007.

The occasional interjection from Scotland has been pretty cool, though.

And I suppose this is as good a time as any to use up the last of my DeKalb County shields (all photos taken 2018-12-07).

CR 665 from AL 40:

CR 671 from AL 40. That next shield in the background is 665, which explains why these two photos look very similar.

^ Forgot about the plethora of A/B-Roads and some Canadian routes up there past the 800s.

Could consider starting over once we reach 1000. At that point the thread will be nearly 3 years old and people may have new photos to post.

People who are either new or gotten new pictures are free to post any already played numbers at any point, so I don't really see the need to start over. At least not yet.

Plus, there are plenty of routes 1000+ to play: Louisiana, Kentucky, Texas, B roads from the UK, Indian reservation routes, some National Forest routes, etc.

Are they? As I recall from the poll, the majority was in favor of retiring old numbers in some way, although no plan was ever implemented.

Do people have their own photos to post of these? From over in the 1-2-3 route number challenge, people are having to resort to the Texas bikers for pretty much every number in the 1000's, so I feel like this one will of necessity reach a natural stopping point somewhere.

I suspect our personal photo inventories will thin out after 999. For mine, I have 884, 930, 969, and then nothing until 2000, then a few 3xxxs, a few 7xxxs, and one 8xxx.

We don't need to keep this game going forever. But we could try to see how far we can get after 999. For example, put 1000-1049 into play, then 1050-1099, then keep marching quickly through the 4-digit routes.

I can't be bothered to go find the post, but I believe the OP went with the plurality of people who voted for the "No" option and left it open. And besides that, a number of people, including myself, have been posting old numbers in the last several pages without complaint from anyone.

Yeah, I mean, I find it much harder to follow the thread with all the unrelated older numbers appearing constantly (especially now that they compete in frequency with the current numbers in play). But I haven't complained or anything because a) it's not important, and b) I hadn't heard the outcome of the poll, so I didn't know what the "official" policy was.

One last number for me to play to get completely caught up: I-759 in Gadsden, AL (2018-12-09).

And with that, I'm now out until 904 unless I take another roadtrip before then (and I don't currently have one planned).

Friendly neighborhood OP here.

I have about 300 numbers in the 1000+ range. Plenty of material to go for a while.

Ad of right now, this is the schedule:

* now-1000: One number every 10 hours.
* 1001-3000: 5 numbers every 20 hours.
* 3001+: The number will advance with each post.

As for the poll: I don't see a way to remove it from showing. Otherwise I'd hide it because it's long done. We're never going to come into agreement on what to do about old numbers. The best suggestion I can offer is that if you want to start a new thread back from 1, go ahead, I'm not the forum police  though I'm sure you'll hear from them pretty soon if you do.

Well, like I said, I don't think it's anything that important; I'm only mentioning it since the topic came up. I guess I am a bit confused about the poll, though–of 27 votes, a majority (16) said "yes" to retiring old numbers. And of those 16, a majority (9) voted to do so after one week. Seems like that was the outcome, then, no?

Anyway, again, it's not that important, and as the OP the rules are up to you. I just thought there had been a decision reached, albeit never implemented/enforced, and I never bothered to mention it before.

On that note - and just noticing the OP said 10 hours, not 12...881 is the next number.
