CA 281

CA 281 is a 3 mile State Highway which exists on Soda Bay Road on the south shore of Clear Lake.  In terms of scale CA 281 was defined with a 17 mile alignment as defined by 1970 Legislative Chapter 1473.  Most Chapter 1473 State Highway additions were of existing roads that would be assumed under State Maintenance upon them being built to State Standards.  Whereas most Chapter 1473 roads never became much more than lines on Caltrans State Maps that wasn't the case with CA 281 as 3 miles were built to State Standards during the 1970s.
