:wow:
That has the be the sign with the most destinations on it (8). The most I have in my collection is 5.

Earlier in the thread, there was a sign in Maine that had 9 destinations, most of them towns that are also the names of countries.
Clinched, plus MA 286

Traveled, plus several state routes

Lowest untraveled: 25 (updated from 14)

New clinches: MA 286
New traveled: MA 14, MA 123

I still like my idea that you should be able to play the word in front of "...ville" since there are so many 'ville's. Therefore you could play an "S" if someone played "Louisville."

Agreed, but it shouldn't necessarily be limited to ____ville. Perhaps also ___ Lake and ___ Cove (both from photos I've put on the shelf for the time being). Maybe some other suffixes too, like ___town?

I don't see any place on that sign that starts with "d". Two that start with a weird character that looks like a (blend of "b" and "p", but unless you can confirm that transliterates to "d", I wouldn't count it. (What language is it in, anyway?)

Anyway, the first time you posted that photo, it was interesting. But a bit soon to recycle it, especially if you have to stretch to use it.

It's Icelandic, and that letter is the letter thorn - þ - which would be transliterated as "th."

I think instead of "-staoir" those names end in "-staðir."

It's a "Þ", which is the Old English "thorn" letter, and survives in use only in Icelandic. It roughly transliterates into a "th" sound.

In other words, noelbotevera needs to make a different play.
