Keep going south on US 42, then go west on US 42 when it crosses the river, to Florence. That gives a couple more options to play from.

Change that to Florence, SC, where we take US 76 to Clemson:

Shouldn't that be NORTH US 123?

Yes (and also GA 365, for that matter), at least if we're assuming that US 123 is, in fact, a north-south route, which is debatable at best.

GA 17 to Lavonia:

US 89

From Lavonia, we'll head up I-85 to Greenville (SC):

Once into South Carolina, take US 25 (and either its E or W split) to Richmond, Ky.

Let's jump to Richmond, UT and take US 91 north to Chubbuck, ID:

Henry

From Chubbuck, it's just a short drive on I-86 east to Pocatello:
Go Cubs Go! Go Cubs Go! Hey Chicago, what do you say? The Cubs are gonna win today!

Jim

I-15 takes us from Pocatello to Beaver, Utah.  October 1, 2015.

Let's hope this doesn't get us stuck...Utah SR 21 to Milford:

Jim

Lots of Milfords to choose from, so that gets us unstuck.

Jump to Milford, Massachusetts, then Massachusetts 16 to Medford.  Taken on Massachusetts 2.  August 6, 2010.

Hampton, NH > Hampton, IA, then using US 65 to reach Marshalltown, IA Bondurant, IA* (photo taken on I-80):

* Good catch Jim. I even checked Google Maps and still messed it up :pan:

Jim

US 65 doesn't go to Marshalltown, but no worries, we will just say the previous play took US 65 to Bondurant, and then get back on US 65 down to Pine Bluff, Arkansas.  Taken on I-30.  July 23, 2015.

This game's been dormant for over a year and a half, but with the recent revival of The road sign city name photo game I thought it's worth a try on this one.  I know I have a lot more to choose from in my collection now, and we have some participants in these kinds of games who weren't around back in 2019.

So all I can do to get us out of Branson is to stay on US 65 and go up to Lucas, Iowa.  Taken July 29, 2018.
