Harsens Island ferry owner wants to retire

There's much buzz from the 1,200 year-round residents of Harsens Island, as David Byson, owner of Champions Auto Service (the only public way to get on and off the island), plans to retire. Although he hasn't yet given a date for a possible shut down, the Michigan Public Service Commission wants a smooth transition to whatever might replace it.

I guess these folks on Harsens Island might refgret now to not letting MIDOT to built a bridge.
