A study has begun about adding a new interchange along the US 20 St. Joseph Valley Parkway south of Osceola: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/new-study-looking-into-possibility-of-adding-new-interchange-on-u-s-20-bypass/ar-AAXos0D?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=63e0186c076b4841b17395e4430041e5. The new interchange would be east of the IN 331 North/Elm Rd. interchange, and west of the IN 19 interchange: https://www.google.com/maps/@41.6166455,-86.0816131,864m/data=!3m1!1e3. Does anyone have more information on this?
From the history map on Google Earth, the land has been reserved for an interchange for more than 20 years, but it was never built. Just like US24/224 intersection in Huntington.

I know Osceola residents have been begging for an underpass under the tracks for a very long time. That project I think would be a higher priority than the interchange, though that would be nice as well.
If they're going to do the interchange, reviving IN 219 would be nice but of course that's just a pipe dream.
Looks interesting! Do we think the interchange will be a standard diamond? Or something else? Maybe a half-folded diamond with the westbound ramps in the northwest quadrant, since there appears to be buildings in the northeast quadrant?
I'm just wondering if anybody has heard anything more about this.
