Don't want to start a new thread for this, so posting this here.

I-70 Second Tier Study
I was browsing through the project sites MODOT Kansas City Major Projects page when I came across an update on the I-70 Second Tier Study page.

It looks like they will have a Record of Decision for that I-70 segment (from downtown to 435) in April.

--- Quote ---MoDOT and FHWA propose to combine the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) and Record of Decision (ROD) in accordance with provisions on environmental documentation in the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21) and the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, selecting the Preferred Alternative
--- End quote ---

--- Quote ---MoDOT and FHWA will address all agency and public comments from the DEIS in the combined FEIS/ROD. A copy of the DEIS comments and MoDOT/FHWA’s responses are included with this letter.  The combining of the FEIS and ROD means that there will be no comment period on the FEIS.   However, MoDOT and FHWA invite comments now based on information provided in this packet.  MoDOT anticipates completing the combined FEIS/ROD by April 2017. MoDOT and FHWA request that you provide any comments or concerns on the enclosed information and the decision to complete a combined FEIS and ROD within a 30-day comment period (ending on March 16, 2017). This will be the last opportunity for you to provide comments that would be considered by MoDOT and FHWA as part of the environmental review process.
--- End quote ---

But what caught my eye towards the bottom of the webpage was this:
--- Quote ---Rebuilding the I-435 and I-70 interchange to remove left-hand exits is currently in design.
--- End quote ---

So I emailed MODOT asking about when they will do the construction.

--- Quote ---We plan to start construction in Fall of 2018, with the traffic impacts (ramp and lane closures) to begin in Spring 2019.  The project will be complete in Fall 2020.
--- End quote ---
I didn't ask them what type of interchange they're going to build, but going off of their Preferred Alternative (page 4 of pdf), it looks like it will be a partial turbine interchange. The left-hand exits (which I hate, btw) will be replaced with semi-directional ramps.

I-435 South Loop Link
Another interesting thing I noticed was a new webpage for the I-435 South Loop Link. I'm not sure what all will be happening on this segment of I-435 (from State Line to the Grandview Triangle), but going through the study documents, they recommend removing and replace the Wornall and Holmes Rd bridges, among many other changes. I asked about when they will start the project, but I didn't ask for any specific information about what changes they will make.

--- Quote ---Yes, that section will be under construction in 2018 & 2019.  The website you mentioned is the best source of information regarding that project.
--- End quote ---
This project is also listed in the 2017-2021 STIP (Job No. 4I2337):
--- Quote ---Bridge and corridor improvements from the Kansas State line to just west of I-49. Project involves twin bridges A1240, A1662, A1427, and A0610. Potential Design/Build project.
--- End quote ---

My commute the next couple of years is going to suck, with the 435 pavement reconstruction on the KS side and this project coming up :ded:.

intelati49:
(Instead of the whole list, I would pick and choose out the new lanes/Widenings/Bridgework/Signs and ignore the HFST and repaving projects. Kind of a overload RN and I think that's crushing the discussion here)

I was looking through Central states board for this topic exactly though
