Whether a team makes the playoffs isn't comparable to whether they are above .500. Part of making the playoffs is getting the wins when you need them to get in, which Brady/Belichick always found a way to do. That's skill. Being above .500 or below .500 is just however things shake out. That's luck.

Quarterfinals
West
(1) I-90 vs (5) I-74
Because I'm penalizing I-80 for the lengthy concurrency here, I'll give this one to I-90.

(3) I-35 vs (2) I-94
I-94 hands down, with Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago and Detroit in addition to the Twin Cities they both serve.

East
(1) I-80 vs (5) I-65
I'm sorry I-80, but you pretty much don't go to any notable places in the Midwest that I-90 doesn't go to either, and you bypass Chicago and Cleveland too. Going to give I-65 this one for Indianapolis.

(3) I-75 vs (2) I-70
2 of the cities I've lived in the Midwest over 1.

I don't find I-80 to be that impressive in the Midwest + hometown bias for I-75

I-94 - it's the "business route" of the Midwest and I-90 is the bypass.
I-75 - because why not

I-94 over I-90. ORD and Cleveland are 90’s claims in the Region. I-94 is literally the NFC North highway - it is the Region

I-80 over I-75. I-75 only exists in Ohio and Michigan in the Region. I-80 exists in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and represents a “lower” E-W highway, compared to the Northerly I-94 routing. I-80 also sets up a better Title Game

Title Game of 80 versus 94! So good, they even share pavement in Illinois and Indiana, to get around Lake Michigan

I-90 as the longest interstate.

I-75 for the Mackinac bridge.

Similar.  I barely count I-80 for being Chicago.

That’s a really good way to describe it.
