I think it's funny that Alberta still has yet to make Highway 2 between Calgary and Edmonton fully controlled-access, despite being the richest province, while New Brunswick has now an absurdly large controlled-access freeway-to-population ratio despite being one of the poorer provinces.Does Alberta intend to upgrade Hwy 2 from Calgary to Edmonton to freeway standards at all?

Maybe Alberta indirectly paid for New Brunswick's freeway through transfer payments?? There's been enough studies on the QE2 over the years that one would think it's a long-term plan. There are 5 uncontrolled intersections between Calgary and Edmonton, all minor rural roads. An easy win is closing all the intersections, but you might need 1 or 2 interchanges to finish the job.
I will be in Calgary and Banff over the weekend. Hoping for some last-minute suggestions on anything roadgeek-specific to see.

Maps show it is so I thought it already was.
