Vintage Merrit Parkway photos

Photo collection is here. Starts of with a rather long series of aerial photos which are not dated but judging from the situations at various interchanges seem to be from ca. 1990. But the real gems are the photos from the 30's and 40's, which begin on this page.

And if that's not enough for you, there are also some architectural drawings and a sizable text on the Parkway's history.

Those early views look so open without the dense vegetation that has grown up over the years.

it doesn't count as vegetation just because vegetables live in them ...  :pan:
