On GSV, I noticed that the street name blade at SR 535 & Meadow Creek Dr has been replaced. It previously said "Kissimmee-Vineland Rd", but the new sign says "Apopka-Vineland Rd". Google Maps identifies this section as "Apopka-Vineland Rd", and carries that name all the way south to the Osceola County line.

Did Orange County officially change the name of this section of road? Where was the change point from "Kissimmee-Vineland Rd" to "Apopka-Vineland Rd"? I always thought it was at Winter Garden-Vineland Rd. Of course, it does not make any sense to carry the "Apopka-Vineland Rd name south of the former community of Vineland.

pre-1945 Florida route log

I accept and respect your identity as long as it's not dumb shit like "identifying as a vaccinated attack helicopter".

In Winter Have there is Cypress Gardens Blvd. that is no longer a theme park along it which is why it's named such.  Legoland now occupies the once famed botanical garden and really should be called Legoland Blvd.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

When did this change, my family has a timeshare off of Palm Parkway for years (atleast 10) and I've always known that as Apopka-Vineland. I've always also known to try and stay off of it unless I'm going I-4 east to Tampa as it usually a horror especially during peak times. If I had to guess Id say that parts of it were known as Apopka-Vineland and Orange County wanted a consistant road name and Apopka was the more known name.

I think the intersection of Palm Parkway is the name change.  What is really interesting is that Osceola County just calls it "Vineland Road" and drops the Kissimmee name from it.  In fact the old alignment before Irlo Bronson is called "Old Vineland Rd." and not "Old Kissimmee- Vineland Rd." as originally Kissimmee- Vineland lived up to its name.
