Drove the entirety of CA 174 this morning between CA 20/49 and I-80.  There wasn't too much special about the highway but the Empire Mine on the outskirts of Grass Valley was worth a stop.  My photos are below, I'll probably have a blog post ready this weekend on the history of CA 174:
