While this isn't directly related to the forum itself, it is something that I have encountered via Tapatalk. :hmmm: :-D
I have begun using +apa+alk starting lately (as in the past month), mainly for the purposes of posting pictures on here from my own phone. I still usually use the main site most of the time for regular posts that have no pictures, though. But when I have been using +apa+alk for posting photos and such, I don't think I have seen this oddity until now. Today at school during lunch, I was on Tapatalk, and that is when I began seeing some very bizarre things.
First, before even accessing the part of the app that would allow me to browse this forum, I saw something very peculiar...a headline for someone convicted of some crime, but the thumbnail was the thumbnail for this youtube video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-aK6JnyFmk
- which I was watching/listening to recently because I really like the music of The Mamas & The Papas. Definitely a completely different, unrelated thumbnail versus article......
Then, when I got to browsing this actual forum on Tapatalk, that's when I began to see some really hilarious things.
I saw this - a thumbnail with Rick Astley's famous "Never Gonna Give You Up" video (especially notable in the meme and "rickrolled" culture of the modern day, that is widely known) - not only was this visible, but it was in full motion like some kind of GIF. That's when I absolutely lost it and died laughing. This thumbnail was paired with a completely unrelated thing, which was one of the challenge threads in the Traffic Control board. I got a screenshot of it, too:

Then, I scrolled down some more, and I saw this thumbnail/moving GIF paired with one of the threads in the Off-Topic board. I have absolutely no idea what the heck it was though:

I have absolutely no idea why this stuff would be happening, but it is quite strange and humorous. It is not a severe problem, but it is an interesting oddity that has actually made my day (due to the amusement it has caused me), so I thought I would point it out, and find out why it might be occurring. After I saw this at lunch, I actually truly could not stop laughing uncontrollably for a long time in class, which was quite awkward to say the least.
Also, ironically, I had to use Tapatalk to get the pictures into this specific post itself of mine, but I did not see the problem again just now when doing that.
Also, to ease confusion, I said +apa+alk a few times earlier in my post, because I have discovered that for some very strange reason, you can't type "using +apa+alk" normally or else it will turn into this:
No idea why, though.. :hmm:
The rickroll is intentional. I did it. One of my replies, if you click the image, rickrolls you instead of linking to my Flickr account.

Oh okay. I had absolutely no idea. At least we know the source for one of these oddities, now.
The thumbnail for the date thread is from a video that was posted to it on how the British say/use numbers differently.

Oh okay. I do not know how I missed that either.
So now we're left with the question of why the heck, on the general news part of Tapatalk (not specific to this forum), there was a thumbnail of The Mamas & The Papas accompanying an article about some person convicted of some crime. :wow:
So it's picking - random thumbnails? or the most current image posted? regardless of whether it's related?

I guess so. :-D
Why that would be, I have not a clue. :hmm:
Now here is something new, though I did not feel it was necessary to create a new thread for it:
Starting in the past few days, usually happening with my own posts while browsing the forum, I have been seeing emoticons glitching up into the lines of the post preceding where the emoticons are actually placed - this is causing duplicate emoticons to appear directly above the real ones, and they manifest themself as glitchy and flashing. In the case of this example, this nod/smiley emoticon on the top (above the actual one on the bottom) was flashing like a flashing yellow signal. I found this quite strange and hilarious. Still not a severe problem, but slightly more so of one than the topic in the OP of this thread (bizarre thumbnails on Tapatalk), as it is a little bit disorienting - but at the same time, it is incredibly funny. I have no idea why this is happening, but it started only a few short days ago. :-D
It is very odd and hilarious indeed. :hmm:
