Title: State Line Finds
Post by: US71 on January 07, 2015, 07:52:04 PM
I was out exploring US 71 a few weeks ago south of Texarkana and came across a couple "finds" at the AR/LA State Line.  The FAP marker is for SB 71 at the state line and lines up almost perfectly with the "Welcome to Louisiana" sign. As many times as I've been by here, this was the first time I noticed it.

Immediately behind it and a couple inches to the north is this old concrete post. Any writing that may have been on it has long since faded away. I'm guessing this was some kind of state line marker once upon a time?

Yeah, I would guess a ROW marker placed by one of the state highway depts.
