The Margaret Hunt Hill bridge in Dallas will open in March of next year, starting with a big 3-day celebration...a $200/person party the first night, a 5k/10k run the next day, then a "sunrise blessing"/ribbon cutting the following morning.  Also, more recently announced (and somewhat related) festivities called "Bridge-O-Rama" will take place; seminars, parades, pop-up restaurants, church celebrations, exhibits, as well as discounts from area businesses.

MTO has plans to build its first Cable Stay Bridge.  The new bridge will be apart of the newly twin Trans-Canada ON-11/17 Hwy located in Nippigon, ON.  The bridge crosses the Nippigon River and gorge and abandoned CN Rail line.

Ooh that new Nipigon River span is cool.

I recall that location being rather impressive.

Lake Superior's largest tributary is one of the last habitats in the Great Lakes for the "coaster" brook trout.  These are brookies (or 'speckled trout' as they call them up there) that grow large in the lake and run up the rivers to spawn, much like salmon or steelhead.  They used to be common in the entire lake and its major tributaries, but dams, commercial fishing and invasive species have reduced their range to a handful of rivers mostly at the north end of Lake Superior.
This isn't a separate species from brook trout you can find all over the continent, but this type of anadromous behavior sets coasters apart from the rest of the species.  Plus they are fucking huge compared to your typical brook trout from a small lake or stream.  These big brookies need large rivers with very good quality water in order to maintain their populations.

Good to know they're giving the coaster such consideration in this project.  It has resulted in a really good looking bridge.
"That's just like... your opinion, man."

The longest floating bridge in the world is being rebuilt. The 520 bridge is being replaced before the end of the decade, and Flickr has renders on WSDOT's stream. And a video flyover of the whole project.

I mentionned in another thread the opening last December of the Deh Cho bridge who span the Mackenzie River near Fort-Providence and replacing the ferry. https://www.aaroads.com/forum/index.php?topic=8047.msg193636#msg193636
