Winds/tropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico kept the Heat Index in the 90s all over South Texas on Tuesday, a couple of places approached 100 degrees.  As indicated, our average high for mid-December is low-to-mid 70s and average low in the mid-to-upper 50s

Rain has switched over to snow with temps hovering just above freezing, leading to about a half-inch of sludge. And accidents are popping up everywhere on Google Maps with traffic view. I'm counting at least one on all four Rochester area interstates - that's how you know conditions are bad!

About 50F right now but the Tule Fog still hasn't lifted.  This likely will be the first Tule Fog of the year that doesn't life through the course of the day.

It's a brewski in Missoula. It's 8 with a wind chill of 2. Brrrrrrrr! There is a forecast low on Wednesday of -21, of which, if it comes to pass at that point, would be the coldest for December and would be five degrees shy of the record low set in 1990 of -25.

Hovering just above and below freezing, which means there could be snow this week but more likely just more annoying frost and ice to deal with.

With updated models, it is very likely that Wednesday will be right at or close to its 1990 record low of -25. Missoula and points east towards Bearmouth on I-90, Highway 83 from Seeley Lake to Condon, and Highway 200 from East Missoula to Greenough are now under a Winter Storm Watch from Tuesday AM through Wednesday PM where the valleys will end up seeing that polar air seep. Anywhere along that watch area could be seeing -30 or more wind chill readings. Points east of the Continental Divide, I would not be surprised if many reach near or at -50 or more wind chills. The last time it got bitterly cold in that part of Montana, you'd have to go back to February of 1996 with -60 wind chill.

Currently 27 feels like 18 with cloudy skies in Cedarville, Michigan. Looks like winter has kicked in up here in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
