Still remaining fairly warm for this time of the year being several degrees above normal:

Brownsville:      94 high (+4); 80 low (+9)
Corpus Christi:  95 high (+7); 79 low (+6)
Laredo:            97 high (+5); 75 low (+7)
McAllen:           98 high (+7); 76 low (+5)

As indicated above, temperatures are as much as nine degrees above average; a couple of locations nearing 100 degrees.  Dew points in the 70s makes the heat index hover in the 105-110 range.  Normally South Texas averages low 90s days and around 70 degrees nights this time of the year.

Unseasonably warm with forest fire smoke at ground level.  Not supposed to get any rain until next weekend.

Still considerably above normal for mid-October

Brownsville:      94 high (+5);  79 low (+8)
Corpus Christi:  93 high (+6);  78 low (+6)
Laredo:           101 high (+9);  76 low (+9)
McAllen:           99 high (+8);  77 low (+7)

Heat Index expected to approach 110 degrees in a few places, but mostly hover in the 100 to 105 range.

Trying to enjoy the warm conditions while I still can before it starts getting dreadfully cold again in the winter.

I noticed how warm it was today. Mid-80s seems really weird for October! Of course, one look at the forecast reveals this will not last.

There is no smoke here in Renton. AQI is currently 47 (at 1440, 16 Oct 2022).

Wind is blowing it all northwesterly. I'm getting smoke from two different fires in my area.

Winter storm conditions this morning, besides the part where the snow accumulates on the ground. So I guess not really winter storm conditions. But snow was coming down pretty good for a few hours.

A dreary, overcast, on-and-off light rain day with a high of only 4C (39F). The weekend looks summer-like, with Sunday predicted to reach 21C (70F).

AQI is over 250 (and even 300) for most of the Seattle metro area. I've got a smoke-related cold or something, so no going outside for a bit.

Yep.  Worst Air Quality in the World, says the radio.  We're finally number 1 in something!

My Eastside friend shared a screenshot of the weather report for Darrington, Washington, showing an AQI of 461.  (The scale goes up only to 500.)

Here in Wichita the AQI today was 54, with blue skies and bright sunshine, but we had a hard frost last night--the low got to 27° F.

One of them is showing 538...I don't know how that's possible.

It's finally rained in Western Washington. From June 18 to October 20, only 0.55 inches fell in Seattle.

AQI is now back to healthy levels.
