That the Street Car wasn't used here, but instead obtained from a pedestrian walking along the sidewalk.
Every day is a winding road, you just got to get used to it.

Back in 2012, somebody was trying to sell a 1969-70 Chrysler 300 coupe at the South Ferry on Shelter Island, New York.

I hope the owner got lucky, as well as whoever many have bought it from them.

That sucker is clean!!

Yes!!! And rare!!

One of my favorite things to do on Street View is look around places that have "clear" 2008 or 2009 imagery (not that blurry stuff most places have), and look at all the cars that are now very rare or were junked under cash-for-clunkers. Or just things that were still semi-common that are now very rare.

Lots of cool cars have been lost to time.
In November 2017 I spotted a maroon 1967 Chevrolet Bel Air in the front yard of some farmhouse on NY 25 west of Orient Point, New York. The big "for sale" sign in the windshield had a reduced price tag. It looked like a grandma car, and I posted it in Wikimedia Commons.

Take a look at that quilted back deck, and tell me this doesn't scream grandma car;

I looked for GSV views during the same period, and I saw no evidence it even existed there.

The sidewalk Streetviews seems to be rather common now in the Toronto area (particularly in walkable areas)

GSV on trails is becoming more and more common.

The imagery was laid down incorrectly. Go here and change to 2008 imagery. You will be put halfway down E Naples St. Very odd.

I similarly found a segment of Route 66 that was given Street View for the opposite side of I-40: https://maps.app.goo.gl/scvGdaCBZD6WAyUU8

They were able to drive along the not-yet-open piece right up to the berm separating it from the remainder.

A sign saying the road is closed and some barrels in the way? Better drive around it! And they drove past a sign and barrel to use the ramp on the opposite side of the road as well...

Snooping around my hometown, huh?

I see what happened. The East/West division of Naples Street is actually at Main Street. Google Maps incorrectly thinks it is at Lackawanna Street (NY 15), so the 2008 pics (too blurry to read house numbers) are off by one block, more or less.

The current StreetView images, while in the correct order, have all wrong addresses for the final block of NY 63. The Fire Department, for example is really at 14 East Naples St.

I notice that OpenStreetMap has the same error.

Oh, it's even more fun than that.

They navigated this obstruction too.

I wonder what's going on there.  That road looks to have been completed aside from the final connection for a long while; why didn't they finish and open it?  If people weren't saying "not yet opened", I'd actually assume the reverse - that it had been closed for some reason by dumping a pile on earth on it.

I think they turned around and went back to it from the other side, there doesn't seem to be any evidence of a 4-wheeled vehicle driving through or around that. I have to admire their dedication though, they were not going to let a single stretch of pavement be unimaged.

Yet the Magdalen Islands is off limits to them for some reason.

Maybe.  I'm trying to determine that by the clouds on the horizon, but I can't really tell one way or the other.

Is it possible it wasn't a 4-wheeled vehicle?

Based on the clouds it seems that some time passed, but not a very long time. There's also a larger than usual physical gap between the photos on either end of the plants, you'd expect there would be one around where the obstruction is but there isn't. And it's definitely a car based on the reflections on passing cars you can see in the other imagery.

They also navigated this one successfully - also any ideas as to why it was closed? Looking at the imagery they only finished construction around 2016-2017.

At least Mobia Technology Innovations is finally uploading imagery from there.

Strange colour issue on the left side of the street view images for Highway 7 in Bolivia. If you move the car in either direction, you'll see the issue doesn't go away.
