I have driven on parts of US 78, US 178, US 278, and US 378. This is the whole route family. I have also used large portions of US 21, US 221, US 321, US 421 and US 521.

jon daly

I've clinched the eastern portion of I-84, I-384, and I-684; as well as the former section of I-84 in or near Willimantic, Conn..

I've also clinched I-91, both I-291s, I-391, and I-691.

Ignoring single-member families (like, say, I-4):

Nothing too impressive for Interstates. I've been on I-26 and I-526; I-H1 and I-H201; and have fully clinched I-16 and I-516. But every 2di with more than one child has at least one I haven't been on.

For US routes, I've been on US 29 and 129, as well as 40 and 340 (plus former 240). A few larger families where I'm missing only one member: 378, 521, and 201.

US 89

For US Route families, I've traveled on:

-29 and 129
-69 and 169
-83, 183, and 283
-85, 285, and 385
-87 and 287
-89 and 189
-90, 190, and 290
-91, 191, and 491

As for interstates:
-25 and 225
-44, 244, and 444
-45 and 345

EDIT: a lot of people have started adding single-member families. I don't count those; they're too easy.

wanderer2575

Clinched I-96 and all the I-x96s.

Clinched US-24 and drove parts of US-224.

Flint1979

I've driven on I-75 (MI, OH, KY, TN, GA, FL), I-175 (FL), I-275 (MI, OH/IN/KY, TN, FL), I-375 (MI, FL), I-475 (MI, OH, GA), I-575 (GA), I-675 (MI, OH, GA). I think that's all of I-75's 3-di's. I've been on all of Michigan's child routes of I-75 within the last few weeks. I think I have I-94 too but don't have I-94 clinched west of the Twin Cities at all. I have driven on I-94 (MI, IN, IL, WI, MN), I-194 (MI), I-294 (IL), I-394 (MN), I-494 (MN), I-694 (MN), I-794 (WI), I-894 (WI). I know I have I-96, I-96 (MI), I-196 (MI), I-296 (MI), I-496 (MI), I-696 (MI).

-I-76 and x76s
-I-78 and x78s

This is going to be lengthy so I'll probably do this in multiple posts starting with US Routes 1-20.  I'll only be counting family routes that still exist and that I have driven at least a small distance on.

I've driven every I-x26, I-x64, I-x65, I-x71, I-x76, I-x77, I-x78, I-x79, I-x85, I-x87 and I-x91 in all states they are in.

Also, US 117 & both US x58's (pretty easy to do).

Close but no cigar:

I'm missing I-181 (of course that ship has sailed but I haven't driven that section of I-26 yet either), I-393, every I-x95 in Florida & Maine (never been there), US 160, US 201 and US 319.

It is fairly well known that NY has a full set of I-X90's. I have been on all of them, except for, frustratingly, I-890.

bzakharin

None, believe it or not. Unless state ones count in which case NJ 38 and 138, NJ 33 and 133 (bud not as a driver), NJ 24 and 124

vdeane

My most impressive one would be I-81 and all its (present; I don't have former I-181) children.  Same for I-87, but not quite as impressive.  I have the NY x90s, though there's still a lot out of state that I don't have for the I-x90 system.

Thinking about it, I have driven on the following US route families, too:

- US 2 (both east and west) and x02s (202 clinched)
- US 3
- US 4(clinched), also clinched former 104
- US 5
- US 6 and 206 (206 clinched)
- US 7
- US 9, 9W, and 209 (all clinched)
- US 12
- US 13 and 113 (113 clinched)
- US 14
- US 15
- US 16
- US 18 and 218
- US 22 and x22s
- US 23 and x23s
- US 24 and 224
- US 26
- US 29 and 129
- US 33
- US 36 and 136
- US 42
- US 44
- US 46 (clinched)
- US 48
- US 199 (clinched)

If you disregard business routes and bannered alternates, you can add a couple more.

I'm not counting I-181. Doesn't exist currently, nor did it exist when I clinched I-81 south of I-77.

In California:

- Route 24 and Route 242, if we consider those related
- Clinched I-80 (within the state) including former I-80 along the Central Freeway and on US 50/Business 80, and all the I-80 3dis that currently exist, plus what had been unsigned/planned 480 in the Presidio (US 101/Doyle Drive/Presidio Parkway), originally proposed 280 routing near Parkmerced (the Route 1 portion of the Junipero Serra Freeway), and part of the planned I-80 realignment in northeast Sacramento (the light rail station access road).
- I've driven on I-5, I-105, I-205 (clinched), unsigned I-305 (clinched), I-405, I-505, I-605, but still have yet to drive on 805 or 905
- I've driven on I-15 and I-215 in portions
- I've used I-10 between Santa Monica and Redlands, I-110/Route 110 in its entirety, I-210/Route 210 in its entirety, and I-710 (including part of the Pasadena stub) except for the section north of I-10

I've almost traversed all of Route 99 but for a small portion near Red Bluff (and have yet to use Route 299 or US 199 at all).  California's numbering system doesn't really lead to many route families, though I have traveled down all of Route 330 and post-1972 Route 30 (now Route 210).

Outside California:

- have driven on I-80 and I-580 in Reno
- in Kentucky, I've used I-65 and I-265, I-64 and I-264 (clinched the latter).

I've been on, at least in part, all of the I-76es. 176 and 276 I've driven the entirety of myself, and I've been on all of 476 as well. I've also been on all of the I-83s, though it's not exactly hard to. :P

Additionally, I've been on all the US x22s, though some only barely (e.g. the brief piece of US 522 concurrent with 22/322).
Mileage-based exit numbering implies the existence of mileage-cringe exit numbering.

jp the roadgeek

If we're counting just portions and not necessarily clinched:
All Eastern I-76's except 376
Eastern I-84, I-384, I-684 (and once proposed I-484; and if you count the Governor St ramp: what was built of I-284)
I-86 (the old CT/MA one, and portion in Middletown NY that has signs but is not officially part of it yet)
I-87, I-287, I-787 (might've caught the very tail end of I-587 when connecting from US 209 north to the Thruway
I-88 (Eastern)
I-91, both I-291's, I-391, I-691 (and the once proposed I-491)
Only missing I-393 from the I-93 family
I can create an entire family of 95 numbers, but not all 95's.  I-195 (MD, ME, and NJ), I-295 (RI/MA, NY, and DE-NJ-PA), I-395 (CT/MA and VA/DC), 495 (MA, NY, DE, MD/VA), 595 (MD), 695 (NY, MD), 795 (MD), 895 (MD)
I-97

US 3
US 5
US 6 and US 206
US 7
US 9 and US 209 (and old US 309)
US 44

Interstates I've clinched: 97, 290 (MA), 291 (CT), 291 (MA), 293, 295 (DE-NJ-PA), 295 (RI-MA), 384, 391, 395 (CT-MA), 395 (MD), 495 (DE), 610 (LA), 684, 691, 695 (MD), 695 (NY), 795 (MD)

Clinched I-5 and all its children in all 3 states, plus all of I-82 and its sole I-182 child -- and the western I-84 and its Boise child (I-184).  Regarding US highways -- have clinched all previous US 99 mileage, again in all 3 states (including E/W splits) plus all children (US 199, 299, 399).

The only other Interstate to get a "full family" clinch is I-78; have done the entire trunk plus I-278, the former full route of I-478 (at least the corridor alignment) up to the Lincoln Tunnel, and all of I-678 (and as long as I was near the airport, did the unsigned I-878 stub as well).

  • US-95, US-195, and US-395. Bonus: US-195 Spur and BC-95 (didn't get 95A though)
  • US-97 and US-197. Bonus: Business 97 in Bend and Klamath Falls
  • I-5, I-205, I-405 (OR and WA, and yes both 405s)
  • I-15, I-215, I-515 (NV)
  • I-15, I-215 (CA)
  • I-82, I-182 (WA)
  • I-84, I-184 (ID)

I think I probably got them all. If I did miss any, it would be from California where I was too young to remember which highways I've been on (unsure about I-205, I-110, I-710, I-605, etc).
