Quote from: 1995hoo on November 28, 2024, 12:35:45 PMA certain other longtime user is starting to remind me more than a bit of tolbs in terms of a predilection for posting spur-of-the-moment stream-of-consciousness commentary on all manner of utter inane trvialities. (To be clear, I'm not suggesting said user is a tolbs sockpuppet. Just remarking on the similarity in posting style.)
I think I know who you're talking about. Though I'm not gonna say anything about them publicly. You could PM me the user, but even then I don't think the information would affect me that much because I don't know who it is.

Perfect summary of K12 in one thread as far as I'm concerned:

Quote from: Quillz on December 02, 2024, 05:11:28 PMPoint being, turns out it wasn't a big deal and no one really cared. This thread is the first I'm even hearing of a mountain in Arizona being renamed. And... okay? It's a mountain, I don't think it's going to care what it's called. We could rename Mt. Whitney to Mt. BudShusterIsAStupidFatass and it wouldn't change anything geographically.

speak for yourself. I will not be having kids anytime soon... much less be married. Do I see that as a problem?

Hey now, I would think you and I would dominate that thread because of all the Rochester city street crossings, plus we already have the Hudson River thread to give us New Yorkers something to gloat about.

Incidentally, I do have an interesting story to tell about the Merrimac Ferry. But maybe a thread like "crossings with stories" would be better for that.

The story:
The only day I ever crossed the Wisconsin River on the Merrimac Ferry, I did so three times. I was doing Crown Rally and my brother was in another vehicle. At the time, cell service was spotty throughout the Driftless Area, so I had no way of getting in contact with him in certain areas. Lo and behold, he decided to stop and provide roadside assistance for a cabriolet that didn't have a roof in the rain. He called me when he was right before the Merrimac Ferry, so I decided to backtrack and go back to the ferry and ride it again to experience it with him.

Somebody I know/knew drunk-drove their car down the ramp and straight into the water. Couldn't believe they survived. (I was not present.)
